When I got home today, the contractor who is remodeling my guest bath was waiting for me.  So was a package with a Nordstrom logo on it.  I had taken advantage of Mother's Day sales to stock up on a rather pricey skin care product that I like.

When I saw the package, my face lit up. Seeing my reaction, the contractor remarked that there must be something pretty special in that box!  I had to laugh.  What made my face light up was not the skin care product, but the box....it was just the size I'd been searching for to mail some items to a soldier!

... you talk about "your soldiers" almost as much as your kids/nieces/pets/etc.!

It takes three times as long to do your grocery shopping because you are constantly side tracked by items for the soldier boxes......

 

Not only three times as long, but you stop at every store at every chance you get just to "Check it out" or during your grocery shopping.. either way.. you triple your cost!!

That one made me laugh.. the other night I went to Target,, had a very short list.. somehow it took me over 2 hrs to get home (it is 5 mins from my house) and the bill was literally probably $100 more than it should have been.....yep, I am a junkie -- just today, went into the Dollar store just to "check one thing" and oops.. walked out with 32 items..

well I am proud to be a junkie!

That posting made me laugh too. I have it one step farther.. when you can't stop looking at the forum, and you are posting something to someone AND you have  to refresh the page because someone may have posted something while I was posting and I don't want to miss it

My husband said "hey, I know, lets send our soldier my Off Road magazines; do you know where they are?"  And I smiled sheepishly and fessed up, "Yeah, they're in Afghanistan."

Of course, ya gotta know that he's a junkie too, because he simply said, "Oh, good!". 

Oh Free Spirit...that is just to funny.  I got such a chuckle out of that.  (the box being the hightlight of the package)

My husband told me the other day that he was almost out of toothpaste.  I told him that there were a dozen or so tubes of Crest and Colgate on the shelf in the guest bedroom - my staging place for care packages - "But",he said, "those are for the soldiers!"  Never mind that we had bought and paid for them, once supplies are on the shelves waiting to be packed into boxes, they are not to be touched.  He's really catching on to the importance of my work.
