My friend at work saw some kind of solar powered battery charger for $35 and told me about it this morning.  I looked on eBay and found one that will charge AA, AAA, D, and C batteries for $19.99.  They had 3 available, with a savings on shipping if you bought more than one, so we got all three!  Hopefully they work...

Yes! I can relate. My local PO has an employee whose fiance is in Iraq. She could hardly wait to ask, "Have you seen the new bigger flat rate box? YOu send stuff a lot. There's a military discount" and I"m all over it.

I've created a monster....grandson wanted to make change in the collection basket to help pay for a WII for "our" warrior.  jz

you go to the post office twice in one day cause when u get home from dropping off letters for your soldier you see that someone has written you back and you want to get a response to them in the mail today lol

you bring home small but sturdy cardboard boxes from stuff delivered to your office, because they'll be perfect for protecting chips, cookies and that sort of thing inside the bigger shipping box. 

 Your kids sell lemonade to the neighborhood trying to raise money for "Soldwer Care Boxes".

...you read the latest incredibly stupid and denigrating article about our military, and after spending a bit of time being really angry, go pack another box (while muttering curse words under your breath).

...you read the latest DOD press release about a casualty, and after spending a bit of time crying, go write another letter to a soldier, thanking them (and their family!) for their service.

you leave all your groceies sitting in a heap on the kitchen floor so you can open mail from your contact...who cares if the ice cream melts............

When you receive your SSI and first thing you buy are anything that the troops like or need and then spend the rest of the month during to figure how to live til the first. I'm not know sorry or don't feel sorry my finances.. I give and do what makes me happy, buying for the  troops.
