    Diana,

Whoa!!! Just caught this thread, and I am APPALLED on your behalf! I'm so glad you reported her. She sounds like she may be related to the woman from a few months back that demanded a refund from Marty because her contact didn't send a thank you. Where do these people come from?!!?

When I go to my tiny little Post Office in my tiny little town, the Post Man thanks me for my business AND for "taking care of those boys over there" and offers advice on how to maximize my postal dollars. Amen for the good postal employees!

Check the bottom of your customer receipts. Some of the receipts provide a site where you are specifically asked to tell about your recent postal experience. Your input may not result in a direct solution regarding Beverly, but it may help in the "Big Picture" sense - helping to put an end to this type of customer abuse. And, it doesn't hurt to let the "proper persons" you call know that you have reported that particular post office and offending postal worker by name and location.

I'm glad you reported her nasty behavior, and I hope disciplinary action is taken.

    Re: A nasty postal employee

    Hi All,

Well, I just got off the phone with the regional supervisor of the post office here in Cleveland.Surprise In the interim I called consumer affairs, filled out the gallup poll AND called the ask usps number AND talked with a supervisor at the big main post office. Needless to say consumer affairs is NOT happy with her.Angry The regional supervisor, Shirley was apalled and needless to say really mad. When she said disciplinary action will be taken, I believe her. She said she couldn't tell me what that would be but it would be dealt with to the FULLEST extent that SHE herself could possibly do. She did say there are many different ways to handle this, but in her opinion, terminating this supervisor wasn't good enough, that remark she was venting and I understand why.

You see, in talking with Shirley, she was very quiet and listened and when she would occaisionally say yes or uh-huh I heard the crackle in her voice. She heard every detail I was saying and I could tell was listening closely. She informed me that her husband is a SGT. in the Army. 82nd AA Div from Ft. Bragg and is deployed RIGHT NOW!! Her daughter is in the NAVY and deployed on a ship in the mid east  RIGHT NOW!!  So she did NOT take this situation lightly by any means. She was very upset that Beverly made the statements and acted as she did but explained to me she would do all she could to see this employee was disciplined as it hit a nerve with her.

I believe I got the right lady to let this employee know she needs to watch her mouth and actions and not belittle people in front of others, and make people feel uncomfortable. I refuse to let her discourage me, I plain refuse. On a more better note, I looked and I have enough things I can pack about( 4)  70 pound boxes for Chase and his unitBig Smile. BUT Big Smile I got a call from him a couple of hours ago and he is on his way home for r and rSmile( which was sposed to be in Nov, he took it early and wanted to surprise me) He told me he would love it if I could be at the airport when he came in on Saturday since he doesn't have anyone to greet him. I was so happy and after the shock, I said yes. So I had to book a flight to N.C. in the midst of all thisBig Smile. So, the 70 pound boxes will be on their way when I get back in a couple weeks! But maybe I should stroll through the post office first and see if she still works there!!  Thanks for all your advice and caring comments, it made me feel alot better and I feel I did the right thing by reporting her. She may have done this to another supporter tooSurprise

Good for you, Diana!  And for everyone else, for encouraging her to take action!

Please let us know what happens at this branch in the future.

PS  I'm kinda hoping the vet kept his mouth shut because he was assuming you would report it, so he was happy to stand back and let her dig herself as deep a hole as possible.  Now if only her management will kick her in it and cover it over...!

    Diana,

I'm so glad you reported her behavior.  It made me think of my own favorite PO worker with gratitude.  There is no excuse for her behavior.  The whole purpose of the post office is for people to be able to mail things.  They don't get a choice in what we choose to send.  You really got the right person when you got to talk to Shirley.

I just had to chime in.  THANK YOU Diana, for filing the report.  You've done us all a favor by reporting Beverly's negative remarks and inferior service. Some people nowadays forget that paying a doctor or restaurant or the postal SERVICE--is exactly that, you pay for a service. You should get what you pay for and you're allowed to have expectations for somewhat friendly service when you're paying for it.

    Diana,

I just found this thread and had to say OH MY STARS!!  I'm sorry you had to go thru that, but to find a silver lining in it all, you found the RIGHT ONE to tell it to when you found Shirley!  I'm in agreement with the ladies comments already given.  I'm sure there were some there who thought how Beverly's attitude and actions were absolutely shameful and that you showed true decorum in how you handled it.

You know, it makes me wish I could pay a visit to Beverly with more than just a few 70# packages.  LOL LOL   I'm not always nice.  *pfft*  *pfft*  *meow*

Your great and look what a wonderful reward you got?   You go girl!  Going to meet your soldier when he gets home!   Bless You.  Hugs.

Hi Diana--Hopefully Shirley will kick Beverley's behind!!!  As far as the nice vet who kept quiet during the whole scene, maybe she is his supervisor.  (I don't know how the post office employee hierarchy goes, so maybe not.)  I know I've bitten my tongue a few times around my supervisors, all the while thinking "You have a kid depending on you; you have bills to pay..."  Or like Free said, knowing that you'd probably report it, he was laughing on the inside.

You gotta let us know how this turns out!

Hurray for Shirley!!!  Good work Diana!!!  There's just no excuse for the way you were treated, and I'm glad Shirley was sympathetic.

And I love the Cleveland convention idea!
