Diana,I have been so curious as to what you put in your FRBs to make them so heavy,Am I missing something I'm not getting to my soldiers? My boxes rarely weigh over 12#,But then this week I sent sheets & pillowcases & magazines & stationary. if you don't want to divulge your "heavy" secrets I'll understand LOL  Happy Packing!  Jeepgirl

WAY TO GO DIANA!  You did great!  And so did Shirley.  If you speak with her again, please let her know that her efforts are appreciated by many people.  Beverly deserves whatever she gets out of this incident.

But I also want to say that, because we travel all the time, I mail boxes (up to 7 or 8 at a  time)  from different post offices all the time, and I have always had good to excellent service.  Most postal employees are great, which is one reason Beverly stands out like a sore thumb.

Thank you for being willing to take action.  As others have said, you've doubtless done a favor for alot of customers.

    Re: A nasty postal employee

Oh, Diana you aren't going to share with all of us what went into those gems of a shipment??

I really was hoping that Beverly would have had a change in tune when she saw you again.  I guess this is the real Beverly.  She wasn't just having a bad day!!!  You handled it the right way.  You gave her another chance to show that she could be nice and caring. I guess she never heard that the "customer is always right".   Tell Shirley that we all appreciate her.  There is no excuse for Beverly to treat anyone the way she treated you.

God bless you for your generosity to the great warriors of our great country.

    Vicki,

Sure I can share what I sent in this shipment and what I send in "normal" shipments I just don't know where to post it ( which thread). I can tell you though that in the 1 box there was a 6 foot HEAVY ( approx15- 20 pounds) towing (log) chain in the bottomIndifferent Well you never know if their hummer thingy might get stuck in the sandIndifferentAngel That is the only wierd thing I placed in the boxes as I only did it because I needed "emergency weight" to be able to pull this off the following morning. Everything I sent will be used with the exception of the chain but then again who knowsBig Smile

    Re: A nasty postal employee

    Hi All,

Ok Maggie your suspense has come to an end!!Big Smile I went and had a nice conversation with Shirley and gave her the items I had for her, signed the papers and all the jazz. Beverly was put on suspension immediately per Shirley! Her disciplinary hearing was this morning and the suspension continues for 14 days. Upon returning Beverly has been demoted to a letter carrierIndifferent. Yes a letter carrier!!!!! I agree with Shirley that it is sad that an employee almost lost her job of 19 years over her mouth. If Shirley would have had her way she would have. Now, due to her mouth, she has been demoted out of a snug warm secure office and is back out carrying and lugging around mail 8 hours a day ( or until her route is finished). Along with that, she lost pay because her suspension is unpaid, and the demotion has a pay cut with it. In order to get back to where she was ( in an office) she has to climb to the top again. And as Shirley explained ( and I still don't understand) this messed with EVERYTHING including her money, retirement fund ( i guess you put so much in it according to your pay rate or something), her seniority, and job security as she will be on probation for a period of 3 months.

Now if you stop and think about that was it worth itTongue Tied Beverly needed to keep her beak shut! Now I am sure she will understand what our soldiers go through cause that mail isn't light!!

Let's all pray that she isn't on my mail routeSurprise Wouldn't that be somethingConfused But anyhow all in all the moral of the story to me is, you never know who you are popping off at the beak to, and most times it will come back to bite you in the ***, and you definitely never know who you offend, as sometimes it isn't just one person.

Thank you all for listening and encouraging me to do what I should have done right that very moment.

    Hi Diana,

Thanks for the update!!!  How ironic that she will now have to be carrying heavy packages...

Yep, she should have kept her mouth shut.  And the fact that she thought one complaint wouldn't do anything since she was supervisor...

Great story with a great ending.  Thanks for sharing with all of us!

I just went to the post office in the next town and the people there are always exceptional.  I gotta fill out the gallup poll thing that's on the receipt and let them know how nice they are.  I never saw that thing on the receipts until this thread.

    Thanks again for the update;

    Take care,

    Maggie

I can just imagine the rest of the employees of that post office high-fiving to have such a self-obsorbed superviser demoted from over them.
