3 Free Packages to any soldier in a combat zone

This is a great place!  You can sign up as a friend of the soldier and they will be sent 3 packages.  It is a great way to supplement what we already send to those soldiers with greater needs.

WOW this looks almost too good to be true!   Thanks for the info.  Anita

That is really a good one to keep in mind. I too feel like it is too good to be true. I did notice it says that when you sign the name up, they are "eligible to receive" the 3 packages. As long as the site is legit, I guess there is no real harm. I am contemplating entering the names of some of the ones that have been mentioned as being overlooked. Wondering what the general wisdom is here on that? It does sound like a great find, and I certainly thank you for posting it!

I think you might need to check with Marty on this.  My understanding is that we are not allowed to give out any of the contacts addresses from AnySoldier to anyone and I think that means even between supporters.

I don't know if this offer is legit, but I would check with the contact first to see if he or she says it is ok for you to provide their address.

I think its not a bad idea. Maybe you should send this link to your soldier and they can choose if they want to sign up or not.
It is more blessed to give than to receive.

I did send the link to three or four of "my" soldiers.  Never heard if they applied.

Lani, did Matthew ever say he received them?

Yikes!  I didn't think about giving out the addresses. Good thing I have not done that yet. That is a very good point.  However, I did sign up my son and he got them and said they were great!  One box had tolietries, one had snacks and one had entertainment items.  If you notice, it also says that you can sign up again after receiving your 3 packages.  I did not sign up again for my son because he has a great support group but I did want to see if it was legit so I tested it on my son and it worked.  So, if we can't send to soldiers here, we can still send to other soldiers we know that are not listed on this site or like someone else suggested, send the link directly to the soldier to enroll if they wish.  Thanks for pointing that out Barbie.  I would not want to do anything that is not allowed.

Re: 3 Free Packages to any soldier in a combat zone

Hi, just thought you would like to know that the following is posted on the information page where troops sign up as a contact for Anysoldier.  Vicki

PLEASE NOTE: AnySoldier.com has a reputation of being extremely effective and our contacts get a lot of support. We suggest that you do not sign up with other efforts (double-dipping) as it often leads to excessive amounts of mail and support, also taking away from units not on any list. It simply isn't fair.
This is NOT a requirement, just a very strong suggestion.
