Thanks for your help!  He's not part of the 173rd airborne, he is part of (or in this case the entire) Embedded Training Team completely separate and apart from the 173rd but fighting side by side with them, so was told his address must include his unit info (ETT 5-3/201) while there's must include their unit info.  He was pretty clear that it has to have his ETT info on it.  It is a mystery... ;)

Hi jenna. The address you posted is correct for Vegas and has worked for my contact there. Have you been able to communicate with your hubby? If not, send me an email or pm, I can put you in touch by email with a 2/503 soldier on Vegas, maybe he can lay eyes on a package that does make it in to the new guys and see how they're addressed or something. For sure, he can pass a message along for ya. Sorry this is happening to you :(  Shelly

Hi Jenna, My soldier on Vegas had this to say...

hey shelly, yea i know reefer he is out here with us. i dont know why that address didnt work. we got mail the other day when my squad was at the kop and i did see a box there for him, but i didnt see who it was from. the addresses on it were typed if that helps?.

So, yur fella got some mail Big Smile Were your address labels typed? If not, figure out who sent that one and what they put on the address, cause it worked! It may have just been a fluke too. Every now and then there will be a local manning the postal area and packages get sent all over by mistake.

Hope that helps! Hang in there and keep us posted how you and DH are doing!

WOOHOO!  That is GREAT news! I can tell that my guy is getting more disappointed as days go by without any mail and any idea where it could be.  I just forwarded him your email - hopefully he checks before he goes to bed since this will make his night!  Thank you so much!!  My labels were typed and that's definintely some of the stuff from me waiting at the KOP for him, so I'm really happy.  It was such a bummer to realize that the one thing I could do for him as his new wife (we got married 31 days before he shipped out) was screwed up and missing.  Thank you so much for getting that info for us!

I'm so honored to be able to help out actually. It must be very difficult for you. You should be on your honeymoon! If it helps, he's among some great guys :) I passed along your appreciation to the soldier who did the actual homework (and to Kristen who let me know you were here!). Check your pm too, I'll send you links to some pix of the area. Don't let the stables scare ya. They've built wood huts now :)

    Kristen,

I just caught your tag line:  "If you won't stand behind our troops, feel free to stand in front of them."  I LOVE it.  Jen, I'm so happy you've found this site and thus, found out your brand new hubby is getting the mail.  Congratulations on your new marriage.  I cannot imagine how difficult it must have been to have your honeymoon cut short by his deployment.  Please know that there are literally thousands supporting your hubby and every other "pair of boots" over there.  Thank you for the sacrifices you're making for us.

By the way, I heard from Brad Israel (finally).  He said they're taking rockets DAILY!  So please keep them in your prayers.  Still haven't heard from Justin on the pool measurements.  I'm afraid by the time we get them, he'll be deployed out of there.  I'm anxious for him to be deployed out of there; I just wish we could help him have a pool party to celebrate leaving!  Wink  Party!!!

    Hugs,

Jenna, love your profile picture!  What an utterly adorable couple you are!!!!  I hope this means you're settling in and will stick around to keep us updated on how your dh is doing over there!  (And we're all here to support you, too!)

Thanks for the tag-line love... I wish I could take credit for it!  I stole it from a Canadian girlfriend of mine on a mom's board I'm involved with.  She's brilliant! Smile

Hello everyone, just wanted to say hello to you all and a Happy Belated Mother's Day to all the moms.  I hope that this finds that everyone is doing well.  Counting down now huh? I'm so excited.  We are planning on a FRG meeting next month to pull in all of our 'goodies' we have for our homecoming.  I have received such great things and I appreciate it all so very much.

The girls and I are doing great here.  Staying busy as usual. My oldest turns 10 next month so I'm trying to get everything ready for her. 10 as an Army Brat is the 13 of a civilian child. haha  Michael is doing well. He still misses the KOP but knows hes doing the best he can from a distance at the same time. Now instead of being beside them he's behind them but at a much bigger level. He can't wait to come home and relax.  We are still waiting on him to be pinned his new rank. So very proud of him, he's worked hard for it.

Okay I'm rambling sorry.  Take care everyone, just wanted to give ya all an update and let ya all know I'm still here and reading, lol.

    Hi Ang,

I've been wondering where you've been hiding.  Geez, since Michael got transferred you hardly stop in any more or least you don't speak up much anymore.  It's good to know you and the girls are doing well.

I think everyone is doing the countdown.  I know a couple of my 'guys' are.  I have to get the posters together and get them sent out so they can be there for the welcome home.  I have to back thru the posts to find the person who's gathering the welcome home posters for the 2-503 so I know where to send them.

Please take care & let Michael know he's in my prayers as are you and the girls.  Of course all of our troops & their families are, but I always use the names when I know them.  I guess I hope that gets extra attention for those.  Wink

    Love ya,

    Re: Korengal Outpost, Afghanistan

    Hi Everyone!

Well, it's been a while since I have posted. On April 26th I had a pretty bad wreck. Totaled my car and felt like it totaled me! I am good, though. God was definately holding me during that awful experience. I came  out with a cracked bone in my hand, a jammed elbow and bruises like I have never seen before. But none of what I have gone through is anywhere near what our guys go through everyday!

I wanted to let everyone know that the chemical company called me and told  me that they could not deliver in Afghanistan. So, I talked to Justin and I think I have found the solution for chemicals. Bacqsel (spelling) it's not cholorine and not "chemicals". So I think I can send this. Justin sent me some dimensions of the pool.

"As for getting you a pic of the pool... im not shure when i'll be back over there, supposed to move over there soon but could get delayed a week or two. But the pool is about 30-40 feet long 10-15 feet across and 4 feet deep. We'll be adding a wall to it internally so that is when we'll build a hole for the filter. Well please tell everyone on the KOP forum that we really appreciate there help getting the funds together to do this for us, were pretty excited and again thank you Renae."

I haven't heard from him in a while, thought I'd shoot him an email and see if he could respond. I have not been able to send the stuff over and wasn't sure if I should since it is getting so close to time for their last mail. I have just seen that tonight. I just haven't been online lately.

Just wanted to drop you guys a line and let you know I'm still alive, barely!! No really, I am great. I went and bought another RAV exactly like the one I totaled. It saved my life. It did everything it was suppose to do to keep me from being badly hurt. I'll continue to keep in touch, I want to help you guys as much as possible.

    Love to you ALL!!

    Renae
