Hey!  I was wondering if we could start a thread, or even somehow get it made as its own folder - for people to post online stores we can shop at for our soldiers that will ship directly to them.  I'm putting this thought under food, but I'm interested in finding sources for everything we might send.

Anyone have any good ones?

Maria - Check the cigar threads - there are several there.  J&R tobacco, Cigar International.  They have deals of the month pages or something like that also.  Cigars are always a big hit.  Happy shopping

Walmart ships to APOs. So does Overstock.com, Target and JBpet.com if you have a K9 contact like I do and Hickory Farms has a whole section under "products" for APO gifts.

If you want to send pet supplies (for MP K-9s or the veterinary teeams) I use  Jeffers Pet. The webpage is www.jefferspet.com  or call 1-800Jeffers (1-800-533-3377).  Just make sure you don't order any PORK products. Beef , Chicken or Lamb ONLY. The pork stuff goes right into the garbage cans in Customs. My guys tell me the Military Working Dogs (MWDs) really like the "Slammer Bones" which are a 10-12 inch beef front bone.

I have also ordered collapsable water dishes for patrols and cool vests, Doggles and other hot weather gear. Their prices are reasonable and the products are high quality.

I shipped 30 bars of dial soap, 15 travel tubes of Colgate, 15 travel tubes of Crest & 100 packets (1 time use each) of shaving cream for $39 today.  The shipping was FREE for orders of $20 or more.

Nationwide Candy ships direct and they have vendor size individual packets of everything from soup to nuts and all in between.  I've been using them especially for the fruit bowls and trail mix, etc.  The extra cents a convenience I choose to pay what with the price of gas (25 miles to Wal Mart), time (I buy at night online), etc.  Check your prices if you have better deals elsewhere.  They do all the customs forms Hoo Rah!!  Jazzee Girl

One website I have used often is http://www.militaryclothing.com/  They have everything from t-shirts to ACUs to boots to name tags, dog tags, rank insignia, and I don't know what all.  The ship direct to APO addresses.  I sent 30 t-shirts to a contact in Afghanistan.  You wouldn't think they'd be all that happy over t-shirts but they were ECSTATIC!
