Kelly - YES!!  Love the cards.  I'd buy them in a heartbeat.  Cards with messages and notecards blank inside. Ann

    Kelly,

I love the idea of the cards and also your artwork.  Would you consider designing a thank you card suitable for AS Junkies to send to our guys and gals?

Those are so cute!! I think I would bother Marty with it. You know that every junkie would buy them, probably many times over! What a talent!

Wow!!! Thanks for all of the great feedback!

I will compose an email to Marty and see what he thinks. I’ll also start working on some more designs for everyday note cards as well as a “thank you” cards as Rosemary suggested. I’m trying to “complete” a piece a week for the New Year, but I still have to convince my 5 month old to cooperate! In the meant time, I’ll get hoping on this.

Thanks for all of the great comments, and I’d love to hear any more ideas anyone has!

    Hi Kelly,

I checked out your cards -  very cute!!!

I am also an artist, as well as graphic designer, so I had a thought: what about having several different people do card designs that could be printed and packaged together? I know of at least one other artist on the site who does some amazing illustration, and I've been working on ideas for a collage that I can turn into a card. This would all depend on Marty's approval, of course, and would take some work as far as finding a printer that would do a quality job for the least amount of money.

Any thoughts? Any other artists on the Forums who would be interested?

I'm game for adding my hand to a collection... also- I think what would be even COOLER than than our artwork though... would be if we could get some SOLDIER TALENT out there to contribute... I have seen some evidence of what they are doing and I think we could probably put out the word to them!

This photo was taken by one of our AnySoldiers (and modified a little by me) and it my own personal favorite Christmas image... it makes me tear up to think of him in that palm grove in the dark with God and his brothers by his side.... I'm not offering it- it's not mine to give...I could ask him,  I'm just showing an example of something from the soldier's side.

Another merchandise item I think might be interesting is a "Challenge Coin" which is a thing of rich military tradition and is a special gift shared between soldiers, as awards, keepsakes or for unit identity.  I think that a lot of us would love to have a special gift... like those polar bear lighters... that we could give a soldier for keeps forever- without weighing them down getting packed for home etc...  the trick with challenge coins is that they are typically produced in small runs, even only 100 and they are a remarkably affordable product for their beauty. Sarah,

Great ideas! Using soldier artwork would be so cool, and I've not seen anything like that before.

I also love the idea of a coin. I've been looking for small "tokens" to send to my soldiers and can never find quite the right thing.

I like the idea of the coins.  One of my most treasured gifts from one of my soldiers is their unit coin...
