Good Morning :)
There's a tear-jerker of a post under "Special Stories about YOUR Soldier" from Diana, meeting one of her Soldiers. In it she mentions something about exchanging a Yellow Rose for a Yellow Ribbon.
Can anyone tell me more about this?
Hi Kevntosh,
I can tell you about this. During my writing to my soldier and emails we always ended them with a saying as I explained in my posting . How that came about was we were writing and one of the things she told me in her letters was that she absolutely loves yellow roses, and I went on to tell her I liked carnations n so forth. Well I had explained to her and sent her a few pictures of my front porch which had a yellow ribbon on all 8 posts and they each had a wooden sign under them with different soldiers names on it. One name of which was hers. And I always told her at the end of each letter " one day we will exchange the yellow ribbon for a yellow rose" meaning when she came home I would take her ribbon down and send her a yellow rose. Which I did a whopping 24 of them!!. That is just a saying I had especially for her it doesn't have any special meaning to anything else.
Hope this helps
Diana
Dang girl, you've made me cry twice now today!
But thank you for the explanation, I thought maybe it was a Military thing, and don't don't really know much about the Military.
