    Jeepgirl,

NO, don't shut up!!! It's good to be excited, especially about something that is so, well... exciting! Party!!! It would be so GREAT to meet Kevin, and any other soldiers and Junkies we can get together.

We'll see what Kevin has to say, and go from there. (So hang on to those nametags!)

Agreed, Jeepgirl and Jenifer.  I'm so excited, I've already figured out the travel logistics from the Left Coast since I may have to do an overnight trip rather than a weekend. Travel

    Hi Everyone,

I understand the excitement completely!!!  I've already told my boss I may be taking off the Friday & Monday of the last weekend in March to fly to Texas.  I've checked the flights and it "appears" they all go the base.  Maybe when Kevin checks in he can shed some light on the subject (unless someone here already knows).  I've checked into the hotels in Killeen, and renting a vehicle.

Won't reserve anything or buy a plane ticket until we get the "green light" from Kevin, but am definitely looking foward to it.

NOTE TO KEVIN:  You will have to let us know how much $$ we should bring to pay for the stuff needed to have this party.  There is NO WAY the GUESTS of honor are paying; right fellow AS Junkies?

    Hey Junkies,

We did a similar party for a support group I belonged to online...I was the hostess!  I had 40+ folks show up at my home from all over the US and Canada for the weekend...and it was awesome.  We collected money from everyone ahead of time (about $20 - $30 or whatever you could give) and fortunately I had a guy drive in with his BBQ setup for one meal, my Mom even cooked a meal and my brother boiled crawfish one night as well.  I know some folks put up quite a bit more out of their own pockets to cover expenses.  But like I said, it was worth it to them and they didn't mind.  It wasn't really an option for everyone to bring a dish like we'd do if it were a local reunion, know what I mean?  Some folks coordinated their flights and joined together for rental cars.  I also made quite a few trips to the local airport to pick up some and lent out my Suburban to others to drive as well.  Most folks had never met each other but had been friends online for years.  No one wanted to pass up the opportunity to meet in person.  It really was nice.

OK, just wanted to get you all a little more fired up about it! hehehe  Like that was even possible.  Wink

    Hey Again!

I'm trying to push out my schedule as far as possible to see where I'll be and what will be going on.  If anyone else is willing to drive this train, I think the 29th and 30th of March would work!  It might even be nice weather!  I'll see when I get home about facilities for a cookout, etc.  Killeen isn't very big, so I might also check into some other local things to do.

    11 more days!!

    :)

    Hi Kevin,

COUNT ME IN!!!!  I've already told my boss I'll probably need the last weekend of March off.  Killeen seems like it has plenty of hotels, but it seems that flying into Killeen, you have to fly into the base airport.  Is that right?

May God bless all of you & keep you close.

    Love & Prayers,

    Sharon

I joined recently so I haven't followed you since the start.  11 more days?  Until you hit the states?  Hope you get to touch down in Bangor, Maine.  You all will get a big welcome home from our Troop Greeters.  Sounds like all will have a great get together.
