I LOVE NEW YORK!!!!!!!!!!!
I didn't get my 15 seconds of fame--more like .15 seconds, but if you taped it, (I think about an hour or so in) when you see Al Roker talking to the LSU gang (they were all there with me!), the AS sign is on the fence to the left. It was 7 foot long! I almost didn't get to take it in!! Apparently the "powers that be" consider any sort of "dot-com" thing to be advertising, and the security guard almost confiscated it from me. I explained to him that it was a charitable organization to support our troops, and I must have looked desperate and pitiful enough, cause he said "Well, okay, since it's Christmas!" But then he told me that I had to stand still and not be "chasing the camera" with it or he'd toss me out! Can't y'all see me chasing the camera with a SEVEN FOOT banner???
The LSU gals had MY nieces names on their sign--does that make me an offical junkie??
One of the NBC guys that was working the crowd saw it and told me he was a Vietnam veteran, so I got to thank him and tell him about the site.
Oh, and itsmesheila--I know EXACTLY what you PM'd me about--there was a guy walking around dressed up like a commode, giving out directions to the Charmin place! TOO FUNNY!
And Amergal--it was so good to talk to you--I loved hearing about your dad at the WTC. I wish we could have met face to face! I promise we'll plan better for my next trip!
