In November the Horn family posted photos of their family members in service. Among the photos was a picture of a uniformed young lady identified as Svetlana Horn. Is this the same person as Svetlana N. Horn who joined anysoldier.com today as a contact person (12-28-07)?

It DOES seem to be one of our Horns! A little while ago, Marty had posted on the news page that Gary Bourland was going back over and would soon be a contact again... as well as TWO surprise contacts. I am guessing this is surprise number one! I wonder, is Svetlana Mrs. Brian or sister of? I also wonder who surprise number two will be?!

Svetlana is a sister to Brian, daughter of Mr. Horn.  He told me his daughter had enlisted and would be deployed to Iraq.

Maybe OPSEC prevents her from doing so... also, as I recall seeig her picture she looks like she's all of 18 :-) Kids at that age aren't always great writers.

I pray that she and all her brothers and sisters over there stay safe.

I also wonder if maybe she doesn't want to stand out among the other contacts out of a sense of humility...

Svetlana is Sergeant Brian Horn's sister.  She was one of 2 sisters we adopted from Russia.

PLEASE do NOT send her anything but cards or letters at this point.  We have not made it public about her because her location is about to change and her situation is VERY different then her brother's was.

Will explain later, when the time is right, but please be patient.  Trust me on this...and (I AM smiling) thank you, very much, for your support.

I got an email response from him this week and his tagline there did include "just ask my son...and my daughter".  I guess he was sort of keeping it to himself for a bit here.
