Hi all,
I've been weeding my book collection and trying to cross reference what I don't need with soldiers requesting books and I thought maybe mention of a website that I've utilized to gain so many books might helpful to some. For anyone who might be interested in sending books to soldiers and you don't mind sending secondhand books, I would encourage people to give BetterWorld.com a look. They have a large selection of current and out of print paperbacks and hardcovers - the used paperbacks are often around 56% off MSRP.
The nice thing is that it is free shipping for any and all orders within the states, and $2.97 worldwide.
I'm not affiliated with this group at all - I am a big supporter of BetterWorld because it supports various literacy causes - for each book purchased, the profit goes to a specific literacy fund, and when added to the shopping cart, you can see each and every fund you are supporting - so one would be supporting multiple causes in this kind of deal!
I hope this is ok to post... I mean no offense, just trying to help others like me who might be interested in providing reading material but don't have easy access to a used bookstore. I don't mean to sound cheap, but if I can get two books in great shape for the price of one at Walmart, I'm on board with secondhand.
Best,
Jennifer
