I requested PSSN Addis M. Rodriquez' name today.  His post breaks your heart:  They need food in their working spaces, snacks or microwavable food - "Sometimes we miss our meals because it's too cold."  I sent 2 goodie time pkgs from Treat Any Soldier today.

Jennifer, thanks for bringing him to our attention.

    Love, Mimi

The time of year posting after the holidays may have effected these contact requests:

Christopher McNutt posted 12-27 , 25 requests and 165 troops desperate help needed.

James P Rigdon posted 12-27, 14 requests and 200 troops

     Jason A Runnels posted 12-30, 12 requests 155 troops

    Christopher K Waldschmidt posted 12-26, 16 requests, 100 troops

Mose Pak posted 1-7, 11 requests, 103 troops

Ruth Sonak posted 12-22, 14 requests, 160 troops

    Tania P Moreno posted 12-20, 14 requests, 105 troops

    Raymond W Whitener posted 1-1, 14 requests, 104 troops

    Ross E Forrest posted 1-13, 15 requests, 100 troops

    Kirkner I Bailey posted 1-13, 13 requests, 140 troops

Matthew Saul posted 1-25, 18 requests, 100 troops

    Vincent M Garcia posted 1-23, 10 requests, 240 troops

Gilberto Ortiz posted 12-22, 9 requests, 87 troops

William Burford posted 1-27, 10 requests, 86 troops

Len Shegog posted 1-18, 9 requests, 70 troops

Dennis Jones posted 1-6, 10 requests, 120 troops

James Polak posted 1-27, 11 request, 87 troops

Matt Clark posted 1-28, 10 requests, 102 troops

The good thing about large groups is that there is bound to be someone from your home state.  Often the contacts will try to match a package with the home state.

I requested Cpt. Christopher McNutt and sent 1 female & 2 male hygiene kits on 2/2.  They have no water for the next month or so.

    Hello all!

update on Petty- he is now requested 43 times (way to go junkies!!)

He emailed me today and was very grateful for the package I sent him. I wrote him back and hopefuly can send stuff to him regularly. He actually  "sounded" happy in his email. !

Just wanted to pass on the good news!

Re: Overlooked contacts - 2008 edition

I don't know if anyone else got a reply from Petty, but he is such a timid guy. He is so shy about asking for anything,, well after some gently nudged email exchanges LOL he actually called me "sis"  (I told him to think of me as a long lost sister or cousin and realize that I am here to help as is anyone else who helps him)-- so he is slowly coming out of his shell. I am working on another box for him and his guys. He said they need heaters (electric or battery) and our local Target has them on clearance (After all, two days of almost 80 degree weather you don't get in the mood for a heater  lol).. I hope to pick up two.

Just wanted to pass on the update,, he seems a bit happier.. so way to go junkies on sharing so much love!

I haven't heard from the other two contacts that were listed here... but I know they are busy, but one package contained some very expensive stuff :)  but I insured it.. it's all good.!

Hey, Junkies, if you check out contacts under Number of Times Requested, there a bunch in there with only 9 requests who enrolled right around Christmas 2007. They certainly all need more support.

I picked up 1SG Burford and sent a box on Saturday, which he has already received.  I'll do another one here very shortly.

Re: Overlooked contacts - 2008 edition

Mr. Gran took 3 FRBs full to the PO this morning going out to CPT Matthew Saul.  We sent around 100 (2 oz. size) bags of peanuts and trail mix, some Slim Jims, coffee, peanut M&Ms and a few odd things like toothpaste, Carmex and dental floss and a couple of Sharpies - we ran out of those.  With nearly 500 people, they can use a lot more, but I ran out of steam yesterday, so only got 3 boxes packed.  They could use some flashlights, but we only buy those according to requests, and didn't have any, nor did we have any wet wipes or powder or shave cream.

Re: Overlooked contacts - 2008 edition

SGT Chester Duvall posted today (2/8/08) that he's only received 2 packages since signing up with AnySoldier (Nov. 25).  He has 10/males & 2 females and has been requested 18 times.  From today's post: "I am very greatful for the packages we did recieve and thank you all from the bottom of my heart. I do understand that due to the numbers of soldiers in theater at this time and being right after the holidays many people are probably strained."

    Hi Folks,

Be sure to check out Martina's post about Cpt. Matt Saul under Emergency Requests.  The numbers for him have been changed from 472 to 100.
