Re: Overlooked contacts - February update

    amyy:

    Burford                   10 – 12  (thanks CJS & Amyy!)

I know that someone else heard from them but I never did.  I hope they received the packages I sent.  I will admit I am hesitant to send another one as I don't know if they are getting there.  Hopefully somewhere someone is using the stuff.

Hopefully someone will find this funny as I do (but my boyfried just shakes his head).  We mixed up a box for our adopted soldier (through another site) and Burford.  We spoil her so they actually lucked out even better then their original box.  She was pleased with there box but I am sure disappointed that they got her Lindt chocolate truffles, gourmet flavored peanut butter etc.  He did get a laugh out of this part-I had printed her a few Dora pictures to send to her niece and a box of crayons.  If that is the first thing they pulled out the box they probably were thinking "what the heck".

That's strange - Bill has been writing to me somewhat regularly.  I know in his case that the #times requested probably doesn't reflect the boxes sent.  I know that he did have an issue getting e-mail bounceback between his yahoo account and my hotmail account so switched to e-mailing me from his .mil account.   Do you want me to check in with him on your box?  He seems very thankful for everything and sends photos and such, so I'm guessing that it's the e-mail thing.   Or - any chance that you didn't include an e-mail addy in the box since it was the wrong one?

Amyy, One way to keep the boxes straight is to put the address label on before you seal the box, putting the filled out customs form on top of the box contents until you get the label ready.  Then after the note, label and customs form are all ready, double check and seal.  If we have 2 or more boxes going to the same contact, we use little post-it notes with box #s and put them on the box with the same number written in the tear-off margin of the customs form until we attach the form to the box with a little piece of Scotch tape, and then remove the post-it.  That way, if we have a "senior moment", we won't have to tear a box open to check.

Today my Mom and I sent out small Easter packages to the following:

    SSG Jared Victor

    SGT Jospeh King

    EDIT:

FYI: We ended up sending PFC Eric Kilter an FRB of snacks (instead of a small bubble mailer.)

CPL Thaddeus J. Griffith requested 11 times since December 30.  He didn't come right out and say it but the tone of his post was as if they are not getting packages.

SFC Luppa Gilchrist says they have not received anything in a while.  26 requests since December 8.

Aura L. Sweeney says they have not received anything in two months.  23 requests since October 7.

Has anyone here shipped a package to her?  Maybe they are not making it there for some reason.

CPO Francis Dalog Sr is a Sailor stationed in Iraq, and is contact for 350 males/50 females. He signed up on 24 Feb, has been requested 12 times, and it sounds like he's received 1 package so far.

AD1 Bruce D. Kelton is a Sailor stationed in Afghanistan, and is contact for 16 males/2 females. He signed up 10 Feb. and had an address change on 13 Feb, and his address has been requested 12 times.

MSG Jimmie L. Wrisper US Army in Iraq - he's got 26 that he can hand out to w only 13 address reqs since he signed up on 12/26. His second AS contact on 03/12 really sounds like he hasn't gotten anything in the meantime tho he doesn't say so specifically. I was looking for LA Marines but I'll take him on and hope that someone else will too....???? ;)

Re: Overlooked contacts - 2008 Edition

I’ve just finished checking the Soldiers with 10 thru 13 requests. (When you reach the ones with 13 requests, they are dated from mid- to-late December, up thru today.)

Here are the ones who have been “missed”:

    Billy R. Robinson, Jr.

    Sept. 10, 2007

    11 requests

    2/1

    Patrick R. Irvine

    Nov. 13, 2007

    13 requests

    9/2

    SFC Francisco L. Rogers

    Nov. 25, 2007

    13 requests

    7/0

    PFC Bodray Teberg

    Dec. 1, 2007

    13 requests

    15/10

I have a group leaving Afghanistan in a month, and another group leaving Iraq a month after that. In a couple weeks, I will be able to take on a couple of these groups I've listed. Can we send some 'hugs in a box' in the meantime? Thanks everyone!!

Re: Overlooked contacts - 2008 Edition

I just checked Teberg, because he had the most people in ratio to requests, and he hasn't updated since 23 Jan., so he has a drop notice that was posted on the 13th.

I don't even know that we can get addresses of the contacts who have had the 50-day notice posted - does anyone else know?  I know that I never request the address of anyone who is in that 50-60 day window.

SSG Nathan O. Chapman says they have not received anything in a few months.  39 requests.

SGT Timothy R. Graham says they have not received anything for a feew months.  23 requests.
