SSG Louis Ollerenshaw posted March 23 for 30 troops, with only 4 requests as of today, 21-Apr.

The one thing he specifically requested is expensive, but with only four requests, there's a chance he hasn't even gotten any letters.  I'm afraid letters are my weak point.  I'm a slow writer and already have more units than I can write to as regularly as I would like.

Scott Harrington posted 3-11-08, 100 troops, 9 requests

I'll be sending a package to Scott Harrington on 4-22-08 (Priority Mail).  He did not have much on his request list, so I hope a small FRB will be enough for the time being.

I just got a box of snacks with a letter ready to go out to the Post Office tomorrow. I wish I could send more, but I have just depleted my "stash" of snacks and toiletries for my last round of packages. Hopefully it will help perk some of them up.

    Hey JoCee,

I requested SSG Louis Ollerenshaw and will get him out a card tomorrow.  Maybe an organization could get them an Ab Lounger Excel, but I couldn't even get one for myself.   I'm a fast letter writer and will at least start off with that.

That's great.  Scott's getting closer to the 50 day mark and it looks like this was his first request for support. I wish the Post Office were open tonight - I want to get the package sent off ASAP!

New on this site, but if you tell me what he or the other memebers of his Medic unit need or want I will do my best to send something ASAP. I can email or mail something you or he just "speak" and I will listen!

    Thanks,Cris C

Did anyone already post about James Preo -  April 6 states "Sorry but I have yet to receive anything from any soldier at this time. Once I receive something I will post a comment."

ps.... Big Smile I have recvd 3 WONDERFUL emails from my new contacts. ALL "adopted" from the overlooked list!!

Thank you for taking your valuable time and using your resources to assist the members of first Platoon 74th Engineers Company....... I am so very thankful of people such as you that give us support.  Mail is a huge Moral builder.  Knowing people we don’t  even know, are involving them selves in this fight with us, makes each day away from our family’s just a little more tolerable.

Thank you, and God Bless you

    SFC Francisco L. Rogers

He has only 15 requests since November. His last update says simply "My men haven't been getting much". There are 7 men in the group. I am going to try to get some hygiene items and snacks into the mail at the first of the week.

1ST LT Amanda M. Halverson (U.S. Marines/Iraq) 100 females.  Only 15 requests since April 8.  Sounds like with that many women, they could use more support!

    Thanks!

    Hey joCee

I sent SSG Ollerenshaw a postcard April 4, but got his name off one of my fav milblogs, YellowHammering Afghanistan, where he's introduced as the new AS contact for his location. I am sure they are getting lots of goodies from their blog readers, but of course we want to keep up the AS flow of goodies, too! I requested his addy here as well btw and am sending out a box next week. Here's a fav recent posting on that blog: Top 10 Signs You've Been in Afghanistan Too Long  - nice dance moves!

Re: Overlooked contacts - Pete Gomez

We got an email from Pete Gomez today, and it took them from 4/12 to 4/28 for them to get a package there at their new outpost, and he said that mail has a hard time reaching them, but it is wonderful when it does.  His requests have risen to 17 now for the 13 represented.  They still have no PX, but are receiving packages eventually.  We will only be sending them a package once in a while because until June, we have a lot of regulars to support.
