Re: Overlooked contacts - 2008 edition

    Hey all,

Just wanted to let you know that Lovier Walker is back from her R&R and wedding and her married name is Lovier Miller.  She is already missing her family and is asking for our continued prayers for her children and her new hubby.  I was hoping that one of her wedding presents from her hubby would have been a dog, but he told her, they have to wait until she is home for good.Dog

    Hi...

I came across another contact who has only received one package and a couple of letters as of yesterday.

Jason Rodgers    17 requests as of 4-29-08    30 males/0 females

They're not redeploying until 4-30-09 and they're not asking for anything out of the ordinary...PT shorts, ankle socks, hygiene gear and drink mixes. So, if anyone can help them out, I'm sure they'd appreciate it. I have some ankle socks and drink mixes I can send out.

    Thank you for your consideration.

    Jen

Just found this thread and am also suprised! I sent a large bos to him on Mar 3 and received an e-mail reply Mar 12. we tried to talk on yahell but couldn't be on at the same time.

As to the packages and letters? I sent the package and 50 letters, he couldn't have e-mailed me if he hadn't of gotten them.

You might want to contact the team, something's going on.

    SFC Francisco L. Rogers

He has only 15 requests since November. His last update says simply "My men haven't been getting much". There are 7 men in the group. I am going to try to get some hygiene items and snacks into the mail at the first of the week.

    -Tricia

I've got a box of hygiene stuff too.  Razors, soap, body wash, deodorant, toothbrushes/paste and writing gear.  I should get it out by Friday.

Moma, Sometimes contacts are signed up for more than one organization or the alternate may recieve your care package. It's possible he didn't know your letters were from an AS supporter or that he just got something mixed up. It's entirely possible yours is the only box he has recieved too.

I'm sure there's a plenty that would make you cranky out there on any given day. I'd give him the benefit of the doubt and maybe since you have the email address, shoot him a note that you're a little concerned he isn't getting enough support and what else can we do!

Re: Overlooked contacts - 2008 edition

    K folks, here we go....

A little special edition to the monthly update! I wanted to check up on our friends from the last couple months and the results are.....

In February and March there were 84 contacts identified here as undersupported.

22 of those contact have dropped or even with a lot of additional support are on notice.

There are 53 incredible heartwarming success stories. I have just read some of the best updates ever! Like this one from Shauna Covell....

We have been trying to keep our heads down due to the recent attacks. Nobody was hurt or killed, But the next day I received 5 packages and delivered them to the posts. That made their day! We were shaken a little but the smiles from the packages were endless.

    You guys did that!!

There are however 10 contacts from the Feb and March lists that still appear to need some additional support. My methods are completely disputable and if I missed someone, please please post them.... but here's who I've identified...

Contact                  # troops     # req when posted      # req now

    Shegog                       70                    9                          13

    Tornald Hall                 105                   9                          12

    Thaddeus Griffith          7                     11                         13

    Luppa Gilchrist             8                      26                        28

Aura Sweeney              23                   23                         24 notice is up

    Bodray Teberg             25                    13                         13

Brian Flamer                 30                   26                         37 update indicates more need

    Charles Duran               6                     10                          12

    Luis Perales                   15                   20                          21

    Matthew Brinley             12                   27                           27

Oh my gosh, if you get a chance to go back and look at some of the 53, I recommend it... bring your tissues! Hopefully we can help out these 10 too!

April list on it's way in 2 and 2...

    Shelly

Re: Overlooked contacts - 2008 edition

The day after Brian Flamer posted his April 10 update, we sent a box with 2 of the 80-ct. wet wipes and 18 pair of men's white crew socks.  When we catch our breath, we will try to get some snacks out to them.  Mr. Gran was down sick for almost a week, so couldn't do post office "duty".

Re: Overlooked contacts - 2008 edition

I don't guess you would technically classify CPT CHRISTOPHER DICKEY as overlooked with all the address requests he has had, but he is trying a "Kevin" project in that he is looking to get mail from every state and they are overlooked by some states only.  At the time of his May 2 post, they had gotten something from 32 states, and names the ones that they are missing.

You might want to check his list of states to see if he has yours in the named ones.
