Re: Overlooked contacts - Robert Wentworth
We haven't heard anything from Wentworth since the middle of June, and he is due to be dropped in the next day or two due to over 50 days without update to AS, and wondered if anyone else had heard from him recently. We have sent him two emails since then , and two boxes, but are concerned like all us "Mother Hens" (except I'm a Grandma Hen).

Re: Overlooked contacts - August update
I'd like to add one:
PFC Marcus R. Moore is representing 2/2 and has only been requested 6 times since June 25 signup. I sent him a box on 7/14. They will be there for awhile. Maybe since he represents such a small group, people are not as inclined to request him?

Re: Overlooked contacts - 2008 edition
Hi, Just a heads up, not serious yet, but Cliff Smith posted 25 Jul with 25/2. Has only had 4 requests. Still early yet, but this is a transportation outfit and very likely the ones getting all the other packages to th eother units. It would really bust the morale to just see a little find its way to them. I sent a box to them on 1 Aug.
Cheers,
Joe

Re: Overlooked contacts - 2008 edition
Joe,
We got Cliff Smith's address this morning and will be sending them a box. Would you care to give us an idea of what kind of items you sent so that we can vary ours a little?

Re: Overlooked contacts - 2008 edition
Gran,
I loaded the box with: playing cards, dominoes, Saduko, word search, & crosswords activity books, Tide laundry detergent, bath soap, Q-tips, and Planters peanuts. I'm saving up for to send another load as soon as I can.
Cheers,
Joe

Re: Overlooked contacts - 2008 edition
It has come to my attention that there are a number of units from Ft. Hood, TX that have arrived in Iraq this summer, and their living conditions have been described with such words as austere, sparse, and remote areas. There are a few contacts that have posted, including some officers (CPTs, LTs, etc.), and I found their CSM Harry B. Lockamy who is contact for the largest number - 430/140 - and has gotten 6 address requests from July 25 - Aug. 12. I thought some might want to look into this group if anyone has any extra supplies not spoken for. Some of the areas do have small PXs that are not sufficiently stocked for the numbers.

Re: Overlooked contacts- SSG Scott M. Robertson
There have been only 7 requests for SSG Scott M. Robertson. He is supporting a group of 80 Male and 10 Female. It seems like the large groups don't get as many requests, maybe we think we can't do enough for that many so why try. I personally like to send to the larger groups even though what I send won't get to everyone. I'd like to see more support for SSG Robertson and other large groups. My 55 soldiers that I send to regularly are very appreciative. Sometimes I send 55 of the same item so they all get one thing. Sometimes I send CD's and DVD's or magazines and the like that they can pass around. Anyway, check out SSG Robertson and send a letter or package if you can. Thanks.

Re: Overlooked contacts - 2008 edition
Hi Joe and Gran,
Just wanted to let you know that I had requested Cliff Smith also after I saw your posts about the number of contacts and the fact that he is probably one of the guys who transports all the other packages to the units in Afghanistan.
I ordered a box of Cookies Galore from TreatAnySoldier on August 11th and I guess they will get them in 10 to 20 days, as that is what Mike Rush posted in Orphanage thread about how long it takes to get a package.
So Gran and Joe, at least we know that, even though there are only 6 supporters, at least 3 of them are us and they are getting some good loving.
I hope to get them out another package next week. So, I guess we can coordinate amongst the three of us.
Thank you both for your attention to Cliff Smith.
Mimi

Re: Overlooked contacts - 2008 edition
Mimi,
We have only packed one box for Cliff Smith so far, with various snacks, cookies, nuts, batteries, and toothpaste. We will try to do another one next week with toiletries. We have had some distractions recently, so we're slow packing.

Hey Gran,
I hope and pray that you and Mr. Gran are okay? How is your back feeling?
