    Re: SSG Vinson updates

Well I ordered 10 soccer balls on that ebay, I had already bought a pump. Waiting to hear the total shipping costs.. I just like the fact i can find it deflated..

BUT I do have small stuff animals (ok the Shrek 3 characters, but maybe the kids will like them) - I have some school supplies as well. Whoever is in contact with Vinson, (I did not go back and re-read the posts)p lease tell him that things are coming, but some things take time. I have to wait for the soccer balls to get here:)  But, I felt I had to do something.

When he was first posted on here, I sent him 4 boxes.. thePO lady was so nice and marked box 1 of 4 etc.. and I didn't hear from him (nor do I expect to!!) so I don't have his email, but to whomever does.. please relay the message to him

     Thanks

    Lynn

    Re: SSG Vinson updates

    Here's an update, Junkies --

Heard from SSG Vinson today (4/5/08)!  He's received *a ton* of tools.  They're being used so much, he says it's hard to sleep with all the building going on! (oh, and his apologies to Dan -- he mis-wrote and said *David* on his AS post -- sorry, Dan!)  He wanted to let everyone know the items sent are being used daily, and everyone is very grateful.  Plus, on Easter, they visited a school --

"I passed out at least 15 boxes worth of school supplies to the kids, they were exstatic"

How do you like that, junkies!  Just imagine all the smiles we helped put on all those faces (both the kids and the guys)!!!!  WOO-HOO Yes  He said he did take pictures, but due to increased demand on their time, he hasn't had a chance to post them, but he will as soon as he can.

All I can say is -- Vinnie & the guys ROCK!  And so do Junkies!!! Big Smile

    Re: SSG Vinson updates

Thank you for the update. I'm glad to hear the tools made it there and are being used. I know from past experiences that boxes are opened and inadvertently diverted. Even the heaviest boxes sometimes rattle after being packed.  They are so generous to reach out to the schools. No problem with being called different names here: I am Dan, Don, David, Daniel  and once even thanked as "Linda" as the contact had 2 emails going out at the same time and got mismatched. I just want to be their anysoldier supporting dawg!

    Woof!

I have been slow, because I can stop buying for all these people ( hmm I guess that is why we call it addiction??)

I have school supplies, stuffed animals, (Waiting on those soccer balls!!)--and I will get it out.. It sounds like they have all the tools they need? If not, is there anything you can think of that I can still send ? once I get those soccer balls, the package will be out

    thanks

     Dear Karen,

Don't worry about your skin peeling. Keep it moisturized and try a gentle exfoliant - such as a liquid cleanser mixed with a teaspoon of sugar and rubbed all over the face. Sugar is a wonderful exfoiliation tool - and it's cheap!

Rinse  well and moisturize again. The top layers of skin on our bodies are dead. Moisturizer only keeps it softer until it sloughs off.

The skin under the peeling stuff will be nice and soft and make you look younger.

Ok- Mimi I believe you are in contact with "Vinny" :)

I had a detour this week in that I had to send out some "urgent' packages.. so I am just now getting to his,, but there are the soccer balls, school supplies, snacks, (pump of course) -- and two flashlights (the best I could do) so he should get them in a week.. I just hope it helps somehow..

     Thanks

    Lynn

    Hi Lynn,

I just e-mailed him, and said to be on the lookout for the soccer balls, school supplies, snacks, pump & 2 flashlights.  I also told him that Lynn, from AS and the forum sent them out today, and to please be on the lookout for them.

Don't know when I'll hear from him, I usually bombard him with e-mails to get him to answer me, he's a typical man that when he has a mission to do, like building and fighting, that comes first.  Gals, I know you know what I am talking about (ha ha)

    Love, Mimi

HI everyone - Just to keep you all updated - I sent a box for his guys today. It had misc. hygiene stuff (toothpaste, sun screen, hand sanitizer, hand lotions, etc. and some magazines and card games as well) I put in a couple of  packs of pencils in for the kids as well. (  At Walmart,  I found a 72 pack of yellows for around $4 and a teacher reward pack of 24 colorful designs for $3.)

Does anyone know if his shower situation is the same? 4 showers for 100+ guys? If so, I will do a box of wet wipes up for next time.

    Re: New Contact- SSG Vinson

Just to keep everyone updated.  SSG Vinson  e-mailed me today and said they have been extremely busy.

He just wanted to let us know that they have only received (1) fan and  -0- desk lamps.

Just in case anyone was still interested in sending to them.  They are still building and Vinny is  so

thankful to everyone who participated in sending tools , construction and other items for them.

I was wondering this as well. I am going to start looking for a few fans to send and I was also wondering about a few solar showers. Being as they are a little pricey though, I want to make sure that they would like/need them. Any thoughts?

    Re: New Contact- SSG Vinson

I am sorry, I do not know for sure.  This return e-mail has taken about 2 weeks to reply, as Vinny stated they

were so very busy.  I know I seen the solar showers at WalMart for  $9.99 each. By the time you pour your bottled water into  it,  I just wasn't sure either. You can never go wrong with baby wipes.

     Thanks,
