    Zips 09354 and 09310

Anyone try to mail a package today to 09354 or 09310 (JAF)?  I went to my USPS contract service in the Ace Hardware today to mail a package to my nephew.  When the clerk entered 09354, the system responded no service available.  I had her try 09310, still no service.  She checked her new list of discontinued zips and found those two have been discontinued.  Yet when I go to usps.com, try the same zips, it calculates a postage amount for me.

     Anyone else have trouble?

I haven't sent anything since before Christmas to the 09354 zip, but I'm waiting on a couple things to arrive before I send off another FRB. I'll let you know if I have any problems with that.

Teena, I mailed a package to 09354 on Thur. 1-17-08. You might check to make sure that there were not any typos when it was entered.

I went into the Post Office today and tried to mail another package to 09354 and it would not take that zip code. I wonder what is going on, I just mailed one Thursday without any problems

I have a couple going to 09354 on Tuesday, so I'll report back here whether or not they worked.

In the meantime, maybe those who have had the issues could call the USPS? I looked on their website to see if I could find anything out, but on the Zip Code identifier (or whatever it's called) I entered 09354 and it comes up as a Military code, APO, AE. Anyway, here's the phone number for USPS:

    1-800-ASK-USPS (275-8777)

My contact at 09354 says that the zip can't be discontinued.  He certainly hasn't been notified that his address has changed.

The Post Office is closed Monday, but please let us know if it is successful on Tuesday.

It's possible that they've changed the zips for locations that get their mail via 09354???

    Re: Zips 09354 and 09310

Here's what my Soldier in 09354 stated on January 10th:

"we been getting snowed in for the last couple of weeks and planes with goodies dont come in at all (MAIL,
    PACKAGES)"

Once the planes start making drops, it should be like Christmas all over again! He is very good at letting me know when he gets my packages, so I can also relay that info to you.

I went back to the post office today and had a supervisor wait on me.  It went through, I explained what had happen Saturday.  He called the person over to have him show what he had done Sat., but they could not come up with an explanation.  Oh well at least I got them mailed today.

I received word Wednesday night that packages I sent to 09354 on January 10th, were finally received. Weather had delayed them. Life is good again! Wink

I shipped yesterday several packages to 09354 without problems.  US PS lady said there should be no problems with this zip.
