    Re: Toilet Paper

I hit a wrong button somehow and lost my reply.  Try again, LOL

I was lucky enough to go an cruise once, and a suggestion I was given was, when a roll of toilet paper was getting low to set it aside, squish it and put it into a ziplock bag.  You could add one to a fanny pack and when you needed it, you had one.  It doesn't have to be a lot, just enough for one or two uses.  I had forgot about that until I noticed the title of toilet paper, now I am going to start setting them aside and squishing them, use them to pack between items (putting them in a ziplock bag), should be able to get several in there.

I was wondering also, the little tissure pack are nice but would seem to be to be expensive; we bought a food and save to help not only at home, but to send items to my nephew.  Couldn't klennixes (or Puffs w/lotion is what we use here) be put into a vacumn sealed bag for the guys and gals?  Would regular klennixes, Puffs do better, or would the lotion ones be okay?

    Re: Toilet Paper

With hundreds of thousands of troops, generalization is worthless so often, but one of the chaplains representing hundreds requested the lotion tissues when they had a cold outbreak.  I wouldn't recommend saving tissue for the care packages that has been partially used even though it is something that we frugal folks could do for ourselves.

    Re: Toilet Paper

I am able to purchase the following from a company close to me.  He will wave the minimum order of $300 as long as I pick up and it is for AS contacts.  I would be willing to get some for the junkies.  If you are interested contact me privately.  Because I am saving on the cost, I think it would be better for me to mail directly to the troops so that you don't pay double postage, otherwise, it doesn't make $$ sense for me to purchase for you.  But, it is totally up to you.  I am offering this because I want to help our contacts not to make money.

These are items that you see in the small travel size section.

    Case of 24 @ .50 each  $12.00

Charmin To Go Bath Tissue (TP)
    Bounty Paper Towels
Toilet Seat Covers (5)  I think Walgreens Brand might be cheaper.  I don't remember how many are in their pack.
    Downy One Load Fabric Softener

    Case of 24 @ .55 each  $13.20

    CottonBuds  cotton swaps (Q-tips) (36)

    Case of 24 @ .60 each  $14.40

    Charmin To Go Flushable Wipes
    Tide Travel Sink Packs (3)
    Tide One Load Laundry Soap

The purchase is subject to California sales tax, which is 8.75% now.  Thanks, Arnold!!!
