Hello, Everyone!
I was looking through the AS posts of the last couple of days & saw Chief Puello's latest update. Of course the bats (called paniki in the Philippines) immediately caught my eye. Cute little things..if you like rodents with the ability to fly (and Steve-O claims-exaggerated by lack of sleep, I'm sure, that they're as big as bald eagles).
I remember (not too fondly) one of them swooping on my cousin & I as we were taking an evening walk..we could hear a whoosh whoosh sound, looked at each other, looked behind us..saw this freakish looking thing bearing on us..we hit the ground (my cousin screamed like a little girl-I was too tough..ok, ok, it was probably the mouthful of dust keeping my volume to a squeak rather than a bellow). We knew they're harmless (fruit bats, bug eaters), and probably more interested in the mosquitoes circling our heads than anything..still, better be safe.
Oh, how I digress..anyhoo, I was looking at the pics..and Lo, who do I spy with my brown eyes..but our very own Sgt Nevels..see post from Jan 1, 3rd picture. There he is in front, white shirt, arms crossed, listening intently (hat on).
Thought you ladies might want to see one of our guys here.
Have a good day, All!
