Re: Thank YOU Any Soldier Supporters, ONE and ALL from ALL of US!!

Hello everyone... sorry I haven't been here for a "few minutes" when things happen here.... things have to be done in a different way... my not being here was one of those things. OK, so moving on... here is a poem I wrote for a Polish nurse I fell in love with while I was in Saudi Arabia. We had a great and clean relationship for three months that ended and life went on. But I think this one is cool because it uses her name and a phrase in the Polish language. I hope you enjoy it.

Pasted it... read it.... and realized I need some PHONETIC spellings for you....

Piekna = pea ak na (which means You are Beautiful)      Bozena = Bo zeen ah (her name)  OK, so now that I am finished I see there was only two words... oh well... now you know!!

    PIEKNA - BOZENA

I SAY PIEKNA                                YOU SAY BOZENA

YOU ARE LIKE A FLOWER IN BLOOM

YOU SAY YOU ARE ONLY A SEED BEGINNING TO GROW

YOU LIGHT THE NIGHTS LIKE THE MOON

YOU SAY YOU ARE ONLY A STAR BEGINNING TO GLOW

YOU ARE THE SWEET SMELL OF THE EARTH

YOU SAY YOU ARE ONLY THE GRASS ON THE LAND

YOU ARE LIKE A GENTLE MOTHER WHO HAS GIVEN BIRTH

YOU SAY YOU ARE ONLY A BABY LEARNING TO STAND

YOU ARE A WOMAN VERY SPECIAL TO ME

YOU SAY YOU ARE A FRIEND ALWAYS TO BE

I SAY PIEKNA                               YOU SAY BOZENA

Re: Thank YOU Any Soldier Supporters, ONE and ALL from ALL of US!!

I have been writing to people who have been so generous to us here as often as I can. I always try to let them know about me... call me crazy!! Well this last time I did... I like the detail yet conciseness of it. SO, I saved it and was going to send it to all my NEW friends... then it hit me that I could cover more ground here... so this is me... in a nutshell!!!

Me... I am a Son of a Marine/Minister with combined years of 46! He did 20 as a marine and 26 as a minister. He passed away on 2002 of a massive heart attack.... while he slept... PRAISE GOD! The minister who spoke at his memorial said; "Like Enoch, Jerry got so close to God, God just took him home." Almost let the tears flow just then. I am such a softie! My Mom worked off and on through many jobs and supported him all the way... even his THREE (count em 3!) tours to Vietnam. I called her the other night to tell her that I extended and she said she knew I would, but she wanted her Baby at home. MOMS... go figure!  I have four siblings... The three oldest are two boys and a girl in that order (the girl is seventeen months my senior) I am an OOPS (Grams always said a Blessing, but she was prejudice... I was born while my Mom was boarding at my Grandparents house). My biological (f)ather was also a Marine, who supposedly was a womanizer so, I also have a SISTER who is SIX months older then me... yes, that makes her a HALF sister! I have never met either of them.  My (f)ather sent Mom home to my Grandparents and told her to stay there. I don't think EITHER of them knew about me at that time. HE found out when he got the child support notice for FOUR kids and NOT the three he sent home with her. WHICH means... I was almost born a California BOY! Home by the way is right where I belong SOUTH CAROLINA... I was born in Beautiful BEAUFORT By The SEA! My Mom married my Dad when I was three and they had a boy two years later. He is my Brother and the closest one to me. So, although I have a half sister ALL my brothers are WHOLE!

My Mother only raised ONE idiot... and that was me! I am the Black Sheep in the family... just like MOM!! My three older siblings all have only TWO kids each and my little brother (who is ACTUALLY bigger then me, not only was I an “oops”, I am the smallest except for my sister and she is a GIRL!!!) who only ever had two dogs! I have FIVE (count em 5) kids and they are two girls and three boys with the oldest and youngest being girls. My wife and I both came into the marriage with at least one rug rat. She came with ONE and I had three. I had been a single parent for the prior ten years which began when my kids were 3, 2, and 1 years old. They are Erica, Christopher and Michael. LYNN, my wife, brought into the marriage a three year old “Red Headed Step Child”, Joseph… who is now 17! He will be moving out soon and then there will be ONE! YEAAAAAAAAA!! That one is Christalynn Michelle… remember, I am Chris and my wife is Lynn. Did you get it? Chris plus Lynn equals Christalynn!

OK, I have bored… or thrilled you to death! I said all that just to say thank you for the letters you've written and what you have done for us. I hope and pray that God will bless you all for blessing us. May your wings never droop and your halo always lay straight!

    Here is an OLD one!!

                      SMILE

Have you been feeling nervous for a while Because Dad and Mom are sitting there    Just cross your eyes at them and smile Think of them sitting in their underwear Seeing us together is what they need Seeing the love between between me and you That cupid pierced my heart and for you it bleeds They'll see I like you and you like me That when we're together it is good And this is the way it will always be And they couldn't change it if they thougt they should But look up and truly smile Because you know we we've got Our love flows like water on the Nile And you know that's quite a lot

The funny thing is.... it STILL lets me edit it! So I tried AGAIN and it came out like this minus the underlinning. I added that to show you where the next sentence is suppose to begin.  Oh well, what can ya do?!!

well....... I just don't understand what is the matter with the way the poem is saving. I copied and pasted it from my "stick". I posted it. I opened it and it was brought together like a paragraph. Well I edited it and retyped the thing so it was line and then next line DOWN, posted it BUT might not have checked it... and NOW I see it is jumbeled!! Anyone got any ideas why I USED to be able to get them to look right and now I can't?

    Hi Chris,

I know the position of the poem helps the reader read each line with the proper pause, etc.  Your writings are so good, the placement simply doesn't matter to me.  I love it.

    Thank you.

As always enjoyed the posts, stories and poems.........keep them rolling.....

    Hi Ann Marie!

Crazy... Silly..... OUTRAGEOUS.... it doesn't mater.... your halo rides on the air above your head... so, even when you "fall down and can't get up" your halo is still perfectly straight! At least for anysoldier supporter angels it does!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Re: Thank YOU Any Soldier Supporters, ONE and ALL from ALL of US!!

BY THE WAY.... have I ever told you.... NO? Well here let me tell you a little bit about it.... I actually answered a question for my Sister-in-law, who I have been giving some advice too. If you like what you see feel FREE to use it!

    OK,

Time for the Chris Dunn TRAINNER to kick in... Remember I told you about the "No Pressure" diet? Well here is a part of it... DON'T STRESS!  Don't stress about what you eat (easy to do when you KNOW you are eating what you are suppose to LIKE the weight watcher's diet)  Don't stress about how far what equals what.... Do you know that you can't walk FOREVER? Since there is a limit, YOU have to decide the best way to take advantage of that limit. Think like this for a minute... what if there was no measurement for distance.. no inch, no yard, no mile. You are walking around your yard and THAT is your distance! You are right now walking three times around CONGRATULATIONS! That is better then two and much better then one! Don't be concerned with miles.. "Hey Tabitha, I walked .75 miles today YIPEEE!" "Hey Tabitha, I walked around my yard three times!" Two weeks later it should be "Hey Tabitha, I walked around my yard four times today and did it in SEVENTEEN MINUTES!! Two weeks after that it should be; "Hey Tabitha, You won't believe it I added ANOTHER lap around my yard and did it in 16 minutes and 52 seconds... I BEAT my time and added a lap! It doesn't matter to know how many miles you travel... it matters that you always get better! And this is where YOU have to push yourself. If you have been walking around your yard three times a day for two weeks it is time to add a lap. If you have been Walking on your tread mill for 10 minutes and get a mile in, walk for twenty minutes and get almost two miles in (the longer you walk the less distance you can go) or walk the same ten minutes but walk at a faster speed so you cover more distance. It doesn't make much of a difference in the long run what you change but you need to PROGRESS one or the other... walk faster, or walk further. When you walk.... RELAX your body, yes, walk hard and walk fast... but don't be tense. Walk up-right with your MIND pushing you forward and your body SLIGHTLY leaning into the walk (forward). Keep your head up and straight and your shoulders relaxed with your arms swinging. Elbows bent for fast walking but don't have to be if your more comfortable with them straight (don't stress!)

Scales for weighing on... SCALES are NOT created equally. Many of them will have a weight variance. Have you checked your scale to see if it is TRUE? take forty pounds of weight (the more the better but you have to KNOW that it is a true weight object... like your dumbbells) and put them on the scale. Adjust your scale so it weighs what ever weight you have on it CORRECTLY... FORTY pounds should show on the scale for forty pounds of weight. It doesn't matter that when you take you weights off the scale the scale no longer shows ZERO... if it was a pound or two off before you adjusted it… it won’t say zero ever again! Who cares what it says when there is nothing on it? We only care what the scale says when the PRESSURE (hee hee) is on! So, once you get your scale to show true weight, check it monthly to make sure it is always showing true. AND, use IT as your guidance for your weight.

When you go somewhere (gym, doctor, friends house) and you get on that scale DON’T worry about if it is FIVE pounds different then yours…. And DON’T get EXCITED if it shows five pounds LESS then yours. Several things are possible. 1. Weight change SINCE the last time on your scale. 2.Your scale needs adjustment again. 3.The scale you are on (wherever you are) needs adjustment. 4.YOU are on your period (if it is heavier weight). There are  too many variables and that is why you should only use yours. BUT if you must step on a scale (phy weigh loss for example) and yours said you weighed 150 and you get on theirs and it says 158… don’t even mention it. The next week when you get on their scale again and at your house it said 148 and at PWL it says 156 you will know you have lost two pounds! Weather you weigh 500 pounds and loose two pounds or 1000 pounds and loose two pounds… you still lost TWO pounds. Don’t stress about the scales accuracy… just see if it goes up or down as you use it continuously. By the “weigh”… I am sure you know that muscle weighs more then fat. To loose weight you can simply shed pounds by eating less. BUT, if you are shedding pounds by DOING MORE, then you ARE building muscle. You start off by strengthening what you have and at some point you will start BUILDING muscle. Now look at me (well alright then THINK about me) I have hit the weights and hit them HARD and I have never became an Arnold Smoozermuscle! So, don’t STRESS… your muscles will NOT get TOO big! BUT as you add a little muscle it  will mask SOME of the weight you are loosing. A VERY good reason NOT even to bother weighing your self.

Let’s say you are a size 15, and you start eating right and working out right and you weighed 250 pounds. Then your scale broke… and ALL the scales in the world broke, but you kept working out. A year goes by and although you have WONDERED what you weigh you haven’t STRESSED about it. OK, now it is the years end and you go to buy a new out fit. You have done VERY WELL with your eating and your working out. So, you get measured for the outfit and you find that you are now a size SIX! Does it matter how much you weigh? Won’t you know by your body that you HAVE DONE THE RIGHT THING?

No stress! Not about what you eat JUST about how much, but DO try to eat the right things ALWAYS. Don’t stress about the distance, just do as much as you can now and increase it to do more as OFTEN AS YOU CAN. Don’t stress about the scale, look at your body and the size of your clothes… you will know! You’re off to a great start! Keep doing what your doing, keep asking questions, keep reading for knowledge, go online and join any FREE or almost free weight watchers or exercise group. Keep a journal of EVERYTHING you are doing. A page a day should be good… eating, working out, snacking, how your feeling, highs and lows… the more detail you have on YOU the better you will know what works or not!

THAT SHOULD HOLD YOU FOR A WEEK OR TWO!!!

    LOL!!

    Hello Chris and everyone

Wow.....what a READ!!!!   But most enjoyable......and I say that in the true-ist of words.   You see I have a sister who walks 2-3 miles a day (and yes increases it a little bit every few weeks).   She is my encouragement.......a year and a half ago she was diagnosed with Stage 4 cancer.........She is a survivor!!!!!   And  a mighty strong one at that.   Her philosophy is that cancer didn't take her off the planet and neither was her weight.   Since June of '07 she has lost over 100 lbs......and going strong.   She eats what we all should......more veggies and fruits.........and I do believe the exercise helps.   As I said she is my encouragement.    I was gonna just PM you Chris.......but I wanted everyone to also know that staying healthy is IMPORTANT!!!!    So, Chris....thanks for the reinforcement that my sis gives and you just gave.   Now I just have to fit it in when I'm watching the grands!!!!

Blessings to all...............LOVE AND PEACE...................ANNE MARIE

You all come here for a good read, and I bet all of you would like to put fingers to keys to have your say... some of you just need a little prodding PROD! PROD! PROD! And I have to say thanks to no1dunn for sharing your words of encouragement. I can definitely relate, and wish I had a few more "cheerleaders" to help in my own struggles with getting healthy. But I know ultimately, I have to be my own best cheerleader.

    So: YAY, ME!  Yes
