Has anyone tried this? You pop the pull tab & the coffee heats up. Walmart has it for $.50 a can - it's probably a 16 oz. cup of coffee. I saw one man buying a big cart load.
I'm not sure if it would be allowed? What makes it heat up? (I'm not crazy. I kinda sorta almost don't believe there's a little gnome inside with a match.)
::::: EDIT ::::::
I googled. *blonde moment* Here are the answers to HOW it warms itself.
How does the can do it? A single step mixes calcium oxide (quicklime) and water. It heats the coffee to 145 degrees in six minutes — and stays hot for 30 minutes.
It sounds like a technology used by soldiers to heat Meals-Ready-To-Eat. But MREs mix magnesium iron oxide and water and need several steps. This is one-step and self-contained.
