Re: Something New- 1st Card Swap!!

Hi everyone - Got my cards and they are super fantastic. I glanced at some, but did not read any of the longer ones yet! Going out to dinner tonight, so I will look a little closer at them when I get home.

I am excited to  get a few of them sent off soon!!  I have a special friend that will get some of them sent to her as soon as the mail goes out on  Monday! She has a special place in my heart and just celebrated a birthday over in the sandbox (her second one while deployed), so I think she need a little extra special good cheer right now!

THANKS TO EVERYONE WHO PARTICIPATED!! I look forward to doing this again sometime!

(Bye the way, I got a really cool card from Alaska that I just loved in my package - it had a wolf on it - which I really like a lot!)

    Hey Justine,

I got my cards on Friday.  WOW!  They are absolutely beautiful and so creative.  BlueStar, you should really go into business with your craft card and the American Flag.  Also I e-mailed Krystyna as she lives on Long Island also and not too far from me.  I thought she put a postcard on the outside of her card and she told me they were pictures she had taken herself.  I couldn't believe it as it really looks like a postcard.

Definitely, it you do another swap, count me in, and I will make sure I get them there in time as all the cards were so magnificent, I certainly got a lot of ideas from them.

Hey everyone - I finally finished looking over the cards this morning. I sorted them into 3 piles for different contacts and will get them sent out on Monday or Tuesday.

I agree, I got lots of great ideas.  I will be more creative next time that I do this.Smile I even took a photo of BlueStar's card to keep just because I thought it was so cool!

The stickers were a great idea for a quick dressing up. I have done that on some of the envelopes of individual holiday cards I have sent out, but did not think about decorating this batch! I think next time, I will put some  landscape photos in if  I remember! The troops that I write to regularly do just absolutely love them - and I am going to the mountains next week and can take lots of new pictures.

Hello card swapers!!!!    Gosh....just got on the computer my sis house and saw that you're all receiving cards.....can't wait to see mine.   I'm sure they're already there....it's just that I'm HERE....in London that is!!!!!   I surprised my sister for her 50th birthday (courtesy of her boss paying for the flight!!!).    This is the sister I talked about in the Stepping Up thread that Chris Dunn has been motivating us through.   She has lost 130 pounds in less than a year.   We are enjoying ourselves. We went touring the Palace today and had TEA!!!    I would have liked coffee......but.......

Will keep this brief....as we've got lots to do......just wanted to check in on the forum quickly!!!

     Blessings to all......

    Love and peace........Anne Marie

Yep, a true Junkie.  On vacation in London, and checking in at the Forums!   Enjoy your time, and enjoy looking at these wonderful cards when you return.   Tell your sister, congratulations on her weight loss!

I got my cards yesterday and they are awesome!!

I'm with everyone else who has been asking when the next one is.  Justine, if you are really busy or if you just want to take turns organizing them, I am more than willing to alternate with you.

I second Krystyna if you dont want all the burden to be only on you we can always alternate! Such a great idea! My contact just let me in on his secret, he only signed up for 7 marines to make sure he got mail but his squadron is 200 so I know that 25 cards to go somewhere would be very much appreciated!

Re: Something New- 1st Card Swap!!

Hope you got your cards, Lisa!  I finally had time to study [yes, study] mine and WOW!  They are in three groups to be mailed Monday hopefully.  Husband & I are going on our annual honeymoon and may head out early tomorrow; leaving it all til next week.

By the Way!  Yes, we have permission for 'Card Swap 2' . . . so . . . . Justine???  You're probably still recovering from this one, but you did have a few offers for alternating the responsibility . . . and by the sounds of it . . . some of us are just plain eager to get going again.  What ever you all decide will be cool.
