    LCDR John Pethel

John Pethels post yesterday is very inspirational. He has the motivation of a Junkie. Please could any who is able send, I know he is asking for alot of people, but even just one box will make a difference. I have two shaving kits I bought with coupons I had for fusion this month. Im sending both and some other hygiene items.

I am always happy to help out a Sailor, and a few of my Navy contacts recently came home - so thanks for pointing him out!

My box went out this morning Smile I sent a large FRB (don't we junkies LOVE these!) -- stuffed with travel size personal hygiene items, q-tips, and some note cards.

I had a picture of him reaching in and the bag was EMPTY....broke my heart. Glad to know we AS junkies can provide an assist.

I just requested his address also and will send out a couple of boxes of toiletries on Monday. I'll get them packed up tomorrow. I have some body butters, razors, and shave cream.

Tomorrow (7 April) I'm sending a large FRB of female hygiene gear: tampons, pads, body wash, shampoo, lotion, etc.

I LOVE these new large FRBs - they sure do hold a pile of stuff! Yes

Don't know how we missed this, but there's a new post from LCDR John Pethel up (4/5/08) with an update and more details about where he's stationed and what they need.  Plus, looks like our packages are streaming in Yes

I notice that John Pethels mentioned his alternate is a nurse who is requesting hygiene gear for patients. It's not totally clear if the patients are our troops or locals (maybe both?).

However, I had a thought. In the thread about Callaghan, ThanksMom mentioned Operation Quiet Comfort, a group which provides things needed by wounded troops. If part of the need in Pethels' area is in a hospital, maybe he would like to hear about Operation Quiet Comfort.

Pam -- that's a great idea Idea  Thank you!  I just e-mailed him the link and asked him to check it out.  Also, yes -- the hospital cares for both our service people and the local population, including children.
