Hey y'all,

Is it ok to send the packets, if you send microwavable bowls with, or is cleaning up the bowls after too much trouble, and should I just stick with the ones that come with their own disposable bowls?

Also, anybody know where to *find* good plastic microwavable bowls? Every time I look at bowls (it seems like), they may say "dishwasher safe" but they don't ever say "microwave safe" -- and some of them say specifically *not* to use them in the microwave. I might ought to have put this question in a separate thread/different area, but I hope it will be OK. Although I'll move it/repost if y'all think I should. :D

It has been my experience that the ones that come in their own bowl is much better tasting than the packets. I eat them at work sometimes and much prefer the microwave bowls to the packets. Just based on taste here of course. I would also hazard a guess that it would be easier to just toss the bowl also.

We have always sent the single serve bowls, but if they do ask for packages/boxes, it would be okay to send those. 

As far as the mw bowls, we found some in packs of 3 at a Family Dollar store that we have sent, but we also have sent the Rubbermaid containers that have lids in the size that is just over a quart, and enough food for more than one can be prepared at one time as many of them do, or they can use them for storage, so multiple use containers.

I don't put anything in the microwave that's plastic here at home so I don't send plastic to any of my guys or gals either. I always send paper bowls

Oh wow this thread is awesome because I had been wondering the same thing!  Thanks for the idea on the paper bowls! I think I'll add some plastic utensils and the packets!

My personel preference is the bowls. I can throw them in my assault pack and head to work without  worrying whether or no there is a bowl there, plus no mess to clean up.

Thanks for your input.  I have always bought the bowls as much as I hate shipping them.  I always wonder if they ever get squashed beyond use because they are so weird, and I refuse to fill the whole box with shipping "peanuts".    It would be nice if they would package them in a carton like the ramen noodles.  That would make me happy.

Yeah I know what you mean, good ole ramen noodles, the military mans, and college kids main diet.... but they tend to make it pretty good. I have yet to have one be smashed beyond enjoyment.

 I've sent both in the past, but I think the bowls are probably easier to deal with on their end.  I also try to include some plastic forks and spoons, and napkins with each shipment, so that they only have to add water, and don't have to worry about who's going to do the dishes.
