    Fundraiser for Any Soldier

    Hi Everyone,

I have been working on a fundraising cookbook to benefit Any Soldier.  I would like to enlist the help of the supporters to make this a success.   I am looking for original recipes.  If we have any supporters that love to cook this should be fairly easy!  I would like 1 recipe from the following categories:  Main dish, salad, soup, appetizer, and dessert. (Please be very detailed in your recipe)  Please also give me the person's name to give credit to in the book.  If you feel you have more than 1 great recipe in these categories I welcome more!

Brian is submitting recipes using MRE's that he used in his early days in Iraq and Afghanistan (pictures included)  The book will also be filled with Any Soldier pictures, stories and quotes.  You can email me at Sue@AnySoldier.com with your recipes.  I am looking forward to hearing from you!  Thank You!

Sue - sounds like a plan.  Everyone loves cookbooks!   Get some of our contact photos in it like your calendar and all the junkies will buy it.   How original do the recipes have to be?  Can they be recipes that we've tweaked?   I have an old family recipe that I've changed to fit my likes.   Thanks for doing this...........

Same here, Deni Dax.  I'm not a terribly creative cook but I do tweak others' recipes from time to time.  I think this is a great fundraising idea.  I'm anxious to hear Sue's reply to your inquiry...

Sue, I'm sending a few your way right now.  Let me know any additional information you need.

This is a wonderful idea.  I collect cookbooks and like to give them out as gifts.  I can't wait to purchase MULTIPLE copies!!

    Re: Fundraiser for Any Soldier

The cookbook will actually be filled with Any Soldier contact pictures, quotes and stories.  Many recipes in the book are mine.  My family and friends have been bugging me for years to tell them how I make many of my dishes so I am killing two birds with one stone as the saying goes.  I grew up in New York City and love to cook Italian dishes but I have many other recipes to share.  I also made up a recipe for Cheesecake that is to die for and I have never given out my recipe until now. I think everyone will enjoy the book.  To answer your question - I cannot use a recipe that has a copyright on it.  If you have taken a recipe and made changes or "tweaked" it  then I can take it. Thanks for the recipes that I have received so far - they all look yummy!  I just might gain a few pounds trying them out!  Thanks again!

Woohoo!  We love cheesecake at our house, Sue.  Can't wait to try yours!  This book will be quite a treasure.  I will have to go through my recipe box to see what I can find to contribute...

    Yay, a cookbook!

Can the recipes be ethnic? I'm Norwegian, and there are some Norwegian classics that we make every year at Christmas that are not only easy to make, but taste great!

Yes they can be ethnic - I never had the opportunity to try Norwegian food and I am looking forward to it!  Thanks!

Sue, do you have sections or categories for the recipes?  Is there a section for 'tweaked' recipes, or super easy ones?  Example: one I call Chex-mix Extraordinaire. It's basically a base with extras added to it, but my kids love it because it is so easy for them to put together. The best part is that it doesn't involve cooking!

Yeah!  I haven't Norwegian since school days in North Dakota in the 80's!  Would love to get a reliable recipe for lutefisk.  Yes, I am one of the crazy people who loves the stuff!
