    Sgt. Matt Maupin

I'm not sure if anyone here has followed the story of Sgt. Keith "Matt" Maupin.  He was captured in Iraq in 2004... his family had held out hope that he would be found alive.  News came out today that his remains were found and identified in Iraq.

During the time that Matt was missing his family became heavily involved in setting up their own organization to send care packages to the troops overseas.

Very sad news... my thoughts and prayers are with his family.

I just saw it on the news. I am glad that the family finally has closure but so sad that he was not found alive.

I  just saw it on the PGR website, breaks me heart. Not the outcome we all prayed for but maybe the family can find closure now. I will not fogret this hero.

I saw it on the news this morning as well. I was so disappointed - I had hoped he would be nd alive and well. I am so sorry to read this.

I still have those 4 soldiers from Ft Drum in my heart and prayers. I hope that outcome is a happy one. Let us not forget them.

I read this when I got to work. I feel for his family, but at least his mommy knows where he is now. I think I would rather know than not know. I think not knowing would drive me insane. Sad

My dad was in Transportation in the Army and the 724th was one of his companies. He has been following this story and has always held Matt in his heart. He retired long before this young man was in the Army, but he still takes in intrest in his companies. I just talked to him and he is saddened at the outcome, but as everyone has said, at least his family knows now. They can bring him home.
