Dang, Caligirl!  Care package flambe!   That's a good anecdote for all of us to read, it's a good reminder in general to just be mindful of stuff we don't normally have to think about (like, "Hmm, I wonder if this cheese if flammable?")  I remember in my first box I put nail polish and polish remover cloths... I shudder to think at what could have happened, thank heaven I got lucky (it was June, so I was REALLY lucky considering the heat).

I have read some guys mentiont that it's getting up to 100 degrees here and there (already! ugh!) so I'm guessing that the cheese thing might be best put on hold until the fall anyway?  Except maybe for the jars of taco-dip type cheese that are supposed to be all melty for good dipping :)  Don't forget the chips!  And the salsa... Ooh, Cince de Mayo, around the corner!!!

I've been sending cans of spray cheese but with the increase in temps, I'm a bit wary. Anyhow, I found cans of nacho cheese on Amazon. You have to buy it by the case...$18 for a case of 12... 15 oz. cans... $1.50 per can. So, I've been sending them along with their standing order tortillas, tortilla chips and refried beans to a platoon I support. I tasted the stuff and it's pretty good. It's cheaper and easier than sending the glass jars of nacho sauce. Just thought this might be an alternative while the temps are on the rise.
