Re: Line at Post Office was 30 people deep!

''I have my mailman pick them up right at my front door.''

Thanks for the tip. I live in an apartment complex (over 400 units) and don't know if the mail carrier will offer this service.  I'm not sure where I could put a package for pick-up. I'd hate to leave a package in the unsecure mail room - too many people come and go. Perhaps I could leave packages in the leasing office....Anyone else deal with this issue?

Line was long at the post office but moved quickly. Most people just dropping off their taxes. I would definitely stay away tomorrow if you can

Sorry to hear some people have had bad experiences at the Post Office. Mine has been helpful (mostly).  But today I went at 10AM and there were at least 30 people in line! (and only 3 clerks).   Is it because tomorrow in tax day (4-15)?.  I can't wait in line for an hour to send my package Gift

You must have been at my post office! I went in before lunch, the line was to the door, so I turned around and went to lunch and did a couple of things, went back to the post office and the line was almost at the door. Some improvement. I waited 45 minutes. I saw only one person dropping off taxes. It became a matter of principle, so  I did wait-the package could have waited, but I wasn't going to come back again! *G*

    At least it got mailed.

Actually, the longer the line at the Post Office, the more time other people are looking at that "America Supports You" emblem on my boxes, and the more people will need to borrow my Any Soldier pens (the pens on the chains are always dry).  I'm very shy and don't talk much.  This is my opportunity to make a statement.  I really don't mind the wait at all.

I'm with you, joCee, on not minding the wait.  I think I've handed out more AS cards waiting in line at the post office than anywhere else.  I've also had some great conversations with curious folks and met some wonderful military and military family members.  I just try to plan my trips for times I don't have to be somewhere else at a set time.
