OK, this may be a dumb question...but here goes.  What happens to all your credit card info when you have stuff shipped to another address?  I have never done this and I don't want my credit card info floating out there.  Is an invoice with personal info included in the box sent over there?  Or is it sent back to me?  Thanks for any info on the matter.  Have a nice day everybody.

While I haven't done the overseas addresses, even when I have ordered to be shipped to our home recently, all the companies we have ordered from have stopped putting the credit card info on the enclosed sheets, using a shipping list rather than an invoice, and have instructed us to copy the invoice from the computer, and send one by email in addition.  That eliminates the need for the credit card info to be included.

Regarding the comment above to do with ccard info.....while I can only speak for our particular online store, it is becoming very common that not even the vendor sees/gets/stores your credit card info.  Our site, we never store, see anything.  The order history only shows first 4 and last 4 card number, rest is redacted.  The way this works for us, you enter the credit card info, it is SSL encrypted, transmitted to YOUR bank for approval, then all we get is the up/down result.

 

Another comment I really have to share here.....we ship a HUGE amount of jerky to our troops overseas, the bothersome part for me is I see more soldiers/marines getting online, buying thier OWN product for shipment to THEMSELVES than we do stateside folks sending it to them.  We have recently changed the literature we send with ALL our orders indicating our position on supporting our troops, reminding them about our ongoing military discount, and encouraging them to remember the troops.  Additionally, we mention they may not know a soldier/marine but there are many sites, such as this one that they could *adopt* a deployed individual.....it is slow taking off, but my mission is to get these folks thinking more about our brave soles in harms way........ongoing process here, but we are on it!
