well I was a little disappointed, as he only had a few minutes.. they didn't even talk about how the dog got to the US!!

But Ellen did give a lifetime supply of dog food (did not know she did her own brand??!) AND petco gave him $15,000 towards rent.. can you believe this?? HE apparently has no home.. has been staying with friends..

I heard of the Major Dennis and Nubbs story. Is there a Sgt Dennis and another Nubbs? I read some articles about Major Dennis, a pilot, who redeployed to Iraq. Correct me if I'm wrong, but a Major is an O-4 and a SGT is an E-5. There is a significant amount of difference in the pay scale.

She meant "Major" and I'm sure it was a simple mistake.

The San Diego paper has been following this and no mention has been made of the Maj being homeless, I believe they simply meant that the dog was staying with friends until the Maj returned.  As I recall from our local coverage Nubs joins another dog in the Major's household so I doubt that he is homeless.  Rent here in San Diego can get quite expensive so probably Petco was simply helping ensure that the Major was able to stay someplace that allows two dogs.  :-)

Thank you for the clarification. I think it's admirable that so much money was donated to bring Nubbs to the USA. I hope the Major and family are able to find a home with a large fenced yard.

I was too! I thought that would be the big story, how Nubbs got here, ...also, I thought that they would bring Nubbs out on stage and they didn't do that either.
