Southwick does care! WOW! What an effort! I hope your kids may get an answer from a soldier, it will make their day as it makes the soldiers day for getting your good wishes and efforts!

    Re: Need a couple contacts...

Hi Marty and support team, We just suggested some contacts who could use a "one hit wonder" kind of shipment from the school. The Southwick peeps requested their own addresses, is my understanding anyway :)

    Marty:

I sent a name via PM, not an address.

The Southwick Team requested Our own Addresses.

I started requesting  2/11/08  and continued a few here and a few there until  4/19/08

When I posted this thread on 4/13/08  I recieved quite a few suggestions. I did ask for mailing addresses but was set straight right away by a couple JUNKIES

    I used my 2 requests a day  everyday from 4/13- 4/19  I do believe.

I am not sure if anyone else from the Southwick requested AS contact info.  We had several names given to us my Teachers and students, but my understanding was these names where personal contacts of these people.

I do know that the Southwick email address requested 1 contact, that was my mistake and wasn't done intentionally to circumvent the rule on only using 1 email address to request names...

Looking through my Old mail I have 20 or so  Addresses sent to me from Any Soldier.  I guarantee each of these contact addresses recieved at least 1 care package, with most of them recieving 3, and a couple getting even more then that ...

     Marty,

I suggested  a name also, not an address for a one time box.

I am totally aware that giving out addresses is against the rules

    Re: Need a couple contacts...

We have gotten a pretty good reply to our care packages this year. Each time a soldier writes back or emails us the Kids get to hear the remarks on the morning announcements which is actually a closed circuit TV broadcast. The kids get so Excited especially if the soldier  mentions a particular student or class room. This school year is almost over but that doesn't mean the Care packages have to stop.

We ( My Family ) are going to keep 4 contacts over the summer.

Hopefully we can get the school involved in another Care Package drive in September or October next year.. A lot of our current contacts are expected to leave  in Dec-Feb 2009  so we might be able to send them some Care Packages  before they go home.

I'd like to thank a few of the Soldiers who replied.

This list is NOT a complete list, just a few of those I can remember off the top of my head. And a few of them might not be AS contacts

Sgt Chris Sproul, Sgt Nick Shelton, SFC Maury Schuh, SPC Hoover, SSG James Garrett, SPC Kevin Kinzer, Cpt McNutt, Cpt Wiles, SPC Barnebe, SGT McDougle, Sgt Mooney, GySgt  Fischer

And the Awesome troops of the 101 AVN  for BOMBING us with return postcards. Since I have 2 contacts in the 101st AVN  I'll just thank the whole group.

A Special Thank you to SGT Michelle Wilson for replying back to Us each time we have sent a box to her over the last 6-8 months.

We have gotten a bunch of postcards from people  and or  Units we have never heard of. Its amazing truthfully amazing !!!

    Hi Southwick

What a gift for the children and soldiers to interact with one another.  I don't think these kids will ever forget, nor will the soldiers--how they gave each other hope when it was most needed.  It doesn't get any better than that.
