    GM Sgt Chris -

I did find a distributor that could ship directly so be on the look-out for a box from 'Tex-Joy'

Well I can't send ya the pre-made stuff, but I got you 6 boxes (100 cnt) of bags on their way.

So you are gonna have to brew it once it gets there.   Also added a couple bottles of 'southern type' spices as well.

    Enjoy !!

    Sgt. Sproul,

We are a broad range of people from all over the country/world with big hearts and lots of love who have been given the opportunity to express our care and concern in a way that we normally would not have a chance to do without the benefit of this website.  It is a combined effort between the Support Team and us Junkies.

I've seen a request for sweet tea as well.  I haven't found it already made without it having lemon added (like Lipton/Nestea in the cans - not at all like my Mom makes).  So my plan is to send tea bags, maybe a sun tea type pitcher and sugar.  My contact asked for Luzianne and I can get the bags here.  I've seen Red Diamond at Wal-Mart too.  But I live where you can actually order sweet tea at restaurants.  Big Smile

On a side note - When we visited my in-laws in Iowa in the middle of winter the server looked at me like I was nuts when I ordered iced tea.  It's like water here.

Yeah I think if you go north of oklahoma it is like some kind of forbidden drink. I use to live in Kansas when I was at fort riley and always had to make my own. Kind of funny, I geuss like POP SODA or calling what ever it is by it's name.

Oh, this brought back a really funny memory -- I'm from Pittsburgh and a few years ago we flew to Atlanta to visit my son.  Stopped at a Wendy's there and I ordered an ice tea -- OMG!!!  Sorry, guys -- us northerners are so not used to southern sweet tea Stick out tongue  A nice customer saw my reaction and told me I could take it back to the counter and I should ask for *unsweetened* tea Big Smile

Lately, though, I've seen it advertised at McDonalds up here -- so I guess it's moving north!

Oh -- and in Pittsburgh -- Soda pop is *pop* -- Lollipops are *suckers* -- rubber bands are *gum bands* -- but don't get me started on Pix-burgh-ese -- that's a whole 'nother thread for *yinz guys* to read Big Smile

When I was growing up back in the stone age, a person in Arkansas would have thought they had been poisoned if they had been served unsweetened tea.  During WWII we had sugar rationing, and us kids only drank milk and water - that was it.  I was grown before I realized that unsweetened tea was enjoyed by some people.  Now I drink it if it is cut with lemon - I even drink cold water with lemon.

My goodness Marilyn, when I read your post I just started laughing.  The same thing happen to me when we went south.  When it (tea) arrived at the table, I just grabbed it and gulped. I just about lost it.  My husband and daughter got a good laugh out of it.  They told me I sure made a ugly face.  The waitress said "Are you sure you want unsweet?" I could not believe it. The tea was like syrup, or it seemed that way to me.

    good one Tony!   LOL

Around here, all soda is "coke".  You go in a restaurant, order coke, the waitress 9 times out of 10 will say "what kind?"  then we order Mt. Dew!

Wow!  I was going to say this but figured nobody would know what I was talking about.  My hubby is a Northerner (hehe) and he just gives me the hardest time about things we say.  In Iowa if you order a Coke the reply is "We have Pepsi, is that OK?".  And it's not an ice chest it's a "cooler".  Confused  Gosh, I could go on.  But, there's nothing in Iowa that can beat the yummy food down here.  And he knows it!

PS - If you're ever in Louisiana the last week of April you have to attend this:

I grew up in Minnesota and went to college in Dallas, TX, and that "coke" thing really drove me crazy! (Most people around here say "pop", I say "soda".)

I wasn't in Texas too long, though, before I started saying things like "fixin to" - which really made my family back home in MN laugh their heads off!
