CSM Jerry R. Callaghan Recovering / Wounded Warrior

First wanted to say thank you all for your support.  Wanted everyone to know I have 7 Units in 4 Countries.  I do push items and have pushed items to all locations .  Where ever the worst need is I can push anything in 24 hours or less. I'm very well traveled to say the very least. In 34hrs I will be on the road again. I have over 700 (but less then a thousand) (Can't disclose locations, type of Unit or exact numbers, Sorry)  soldiers in my Unit and average 200 Military Service Members in the Recovering / Wounded Soldier Program I assist. I will be able to let folks know in 24hrs where we stand with items on hand or needed items. Please be understanding and patient. Yet another General Officer visited our main Site today and was grateful that our Unit thru Anysoldier.com are doing everything we can to take care of all the youngsters that are on lone to us from the Brave parents of the USA. Thank you, thank you !

"God Bless Homeland Hero's" you should be feared by those seeking to do US Troops harm.

Re: CSM Jerry R. Callaghan Recovering / Wounded Warrior

Well folks, I really don't have a clue if i'm doing this right (Post etc..).  But I'm already 6 and ahalf hours late so here's the inventory from my Staff for all locations (Consolidated List). Some AS members and supporters have figured out that by virtue of Rank, Position and General Military Authority I have adopted this as a "Must Do" project.  Seems to me that we should either Lead, Follow or get out of the way. I have always felt that if no one is in Charge "I will take Charge". Seems to be the way I operate.

No need for shower shoes or shirts / t-shirts in the foreseeable future. Please forgive me, these may not be in exact order of need.  Phone cards Note: a 300 minute phone card uses an average of 6 minutes per minute - last about 50 minutes for a 300 minute card!

    1. Bath Towels, as many as 50            2. Wash Cloth as many as 50          3. White ankle socks - mens size 10 or so

    4. Laundry Soap   (Alot)         5. Body Wash - full size 50 or more        6. Bar Soap as many as 40

    7. Mouth Wash, personal size  as many as 50       8. Male deordorant as many as 50     9. Loafa sponges 40 or so

    10. Small, Medium and X Large Gym shorts as many as 50 each    11.Small t-shirts as many as 50

    12. Dryer sheets as many as 50 boxes   13. Finger nail clippers and  tweezers as many as 50

14.Q-tips 50 personal small use boxes    15.  Mini Drink Mixes (Unlimited) single packs

    16. Action / Comedy DVDs   17.  writing tablets, pens and pencils (Unlimited)    18.  Magazines (unlimited)

Please don't kill the messenger - accept my most grateful and humble apoligy.  I merely feel someone has to collectively speak for the silent. I love them as my kids - they are merely on loan to the Military. I'm sure grateful parents are thanking God that someone cares and is caring for there children when they can't be at their side.

I'm out the door on the run, if someone can pass it along to the miracle lady "Lori Pate" at Operation Quiet Comfort,  20 or more Lap quilts would be a HUGE blessing and Comfort if ever possible.

I have to ask myself if i'm nuts, I was stretched paper thin before - now i'm asking for someone to pass notes to other supporters! I must be insane?

CSM Jerry -- you're not insane!  or, if YOU are -- WE are, too!!!!  We are Support Junkies and know EXACTLY what you mean -- don't we gang?  Both the "loving as my kids" -- oh, yeah -- and, the "stretched paper thin" -- but we can do one more box -- oh, yeah!

Thanks for the wonderfully detailed list -- this is terrific!  We'll get some coordination going and the boxes coming -- stand back, (again!) Jerry Smile

Oh -- and one more thing -- why in the world would we want to kill the messenger (you?) -- For heaven's sake -- you're helping us help our wounded -- Thank you!

Hugs, love & God bless -- and STAY SAFE!!!

     CSM Callaghan:

Thanks so much! I'm sure there will be some serious shopping going on among your fan club.

When you get a chance, I hope you will add this list (or a version of it) to your main Anysoldier listing. Every time you post, it comes to the top, and more people will see it, since not all supporters read this forum.   Especially for the "unlimited" items like drink mix, pens, tablets, phone cards, etc. you want to reach the widest audience possible. Just one more thing to do in all the free time  you DON'T have.

Thanks again for taking the time to speak with us personally.  Hearing from you always warms my heart.

    Marilyn:

This looks very good to me. Thank you for taking on this task (and for highlighting CSM Callaghan in the first place in "Special Contact Requests"). Our contributions will be more balanced since you are keeping track.

Oh, I cracked up at your Mr. Potato Head. I almost bought one the other day. When historians are studying this war a hundred years from now, and they find the record of this forum which Marty will surely archive, what will they think of Mr. Potato Head? Is it a weapon? A foodstuff? I can imagine puzzled scholars diligently figuring that one out.

Re: CSM Jerry R. Callaghan Recovering / Wounded Warrior

Pam -- Thanks for your feedback -- I appreciate it!  Oh, and I'm glad you liked the Mr. Potato Head -- I hope the guys get a laugh, too -- Big Smile

I moved some of the items around a little bit & organized by categories -- and added a couple more things from Marine5/Glen (Thank you!)  and also from Ruth's post (Thank you!) -- and re-posted below with the new date in red -- the only thing I'm not sure about is, should I keep posting a new list in a new post?  or edit the old one.

I'm thinking I'll post a new list in a new post -- so it will be the latest one Junkies will see.  And, if you guys think we should move this thread, just let me know -- except someone will have to help me (Jen?) -- cause I'm a newbie at that Sad

Oh -- and has anyone contacted Lori Pate at Operation Quiet Comfort for CSM Jerry yet?

    Marilyn,

Thank you for the great list!  I am in Texas traveling and we won't be home until Saturday.  On Monday morning if you could have an updated list that would be great and Treat Any Soldier will take care of whatever is left to be sent.

And to CSM Callaghan - you are a true leader - thank you for taking such good care of your troops!

    Sue Horn
