    Marine5,

I am not sure we want to send Tide since they can't use it for the uniforms, so we might better send the All.

     Gran:

I looked at All detergent on the Minimus.biz site and it can only be shipped by ground -- which means no APO. It's the All Ultra -- so maybe it contains bleach and that's the problem?

I cannot find it but somewhere in the forum there's a post from a supporter who had a package returned because the detergent wasn't marked "bleach free" (I assume on the customs form).

Who would have thought getting these kids some clean clothes would be such a problem.

It can be shipped to an APO/FPO...98% of of USPS

Is shipped by Truck or Rail...as is anything Expess by any company...

Didn't know that did you...over 50 years in/around/on/owned, the trucking business

Have shipped many, many cases to APO/FPO's without any problems

Re: CSM Jerry R. Callaghan Recovering / Wounded Warrior

I think you can send the Tide as they will be recovering in the hospital and I don't think they will be washing their uniforms.  CSM Callaghan also said powdered and individual sized soap boxes would be great, but he also said anything to wash clothes will be great. I think he wants the powdered soap because if you do send a larger box (cost wise) they are putting it into ziplock bags.  So maybe send along some individual bags.

I also think if whatever you send they don't use for the wounded, I am sure CSM Callaghan will forward to soldiers who do need what you send.

Personally, Kristen, I would send whatever you already bought because I feel the CSM will definitely find a use for it.  I think one thing they would really like are the phone cards so the guys in the hospital can call home and talk with their loved ones who can't be with them in the hospital.  Remember, none of us want to go broke (we won't be able to help the soldiers then); and I feel these guys would love a card and letters.

Re: CSM Jerry R. Callaghan Recovering / Wounded Warrior

Good day all !  I have now stopped in my third (3rd) Hospital / Troop Medical Clinic / Recovering Warrior Unit in three days in various countries. My trip will end a little short and I will head back to the Southern location for updates and briefings. So much to say but time is always an issue. First let me say your all the "Best" support "Team" a person could ever ask for.  Before I forget, if someone could volunteer to be a POC I can send Pic's to that person and then anyone interested in PIC's can ask the POC to forward them.  Don't know if thats possible or feasable. Or, if someone could colloect and post just email address's where I could copy and paste and hit send that would also work.  Just have so many "DESERVING" supporters asking for PIC's etc...but I just don't have the time or resources to do this with other things going on.  I would love to establish some sort of organized way to share PIC's, but need a simple organized way to do it to multiple people at one time, thats where I need help. Please remember, for me as you all this is a Task I have tackled and will maintain for at least another year. Because of my travels (nature of my job) I spread support to several Hospitals, Troop Medical Clinics and Recovering Warrior Units.  I also have organizations that I recieve resources from to make ends meet. The organizational skills from this request for supplies has helped me help others to help our Kids that are in various stages of Recovery. Things are really starting to come together to the point that in 2-4 weeks we will be at a point of maintaining supplies as they get used.  This is a tremendous achievement, HUGE to say the least.  Maintaining will be simple in comparison to the initial start up.  Anyway, I miust get ready for a briefing.  Any detergent can and will be used.  Powder, Bulk or single packs and even liquid.  But as someone pointed out liquid shouldn't be shipped for various reasons.  God bless you all so very much!  Wanted to let folks know I was tracking the progress etc.. and am so pleased to have your support. You all do "Rock" and if everyone influenced one person to send something once a month or when ever possible - that may very well be what is needed for long term maintaining of resources.  This list can serve pretty well as a general needs list.  Some things will be needed more then others like perishables etc... Four different locations are now being serviced but you all "Rock". Feel assured your Blessings will come in 1000 Fold ! Jerry

"God Bless Homeland Hero's" you should be feared by those seeking to do US Troops harm.

    Marilyn and Gang,

Please add the following to our list: 3 DVDs, 2 full-size body wash, 10 pairs socks, assorted note paper/envelopes/notecards, 40 pens, and playing cards. Jerry said that get well cards/letters to the wounded soldiers would be very much appreciated also. I plan to send the cards I receive this week from CaliGirl's card swap as well as additional get well cards.  This stuff will all go out by the end of the week. Thanks!

    CSM Callaghan:

Are you aware of Operation Uplink? It's a VFW program to provide phone cards to military personnel. You probably already know about it, but just in case, here's the link. There's an email address where you can contact them directly for a bulk order.

    http://www.operationuplink.org

It's always good to hear from you. I'm so glad things are coming together to make sure the wounded warriors get comfort and care. They are very fortunate to have you looking out for them.

Stay safe, take care of yourself, and be in touch when you have a chance. Oh, and if there's any little treat you'd like for yourself, send me a PM. I know that's not what you came here looking for, but it would be my pleasure to send something for you.
