    Gran,

    Very well said.  Thank you.

    empressfrancis:

Since I was never able to see the original post by CSM Callaghan and am so new, there is a lot I don't know.  I just had a question that I wasn't sure anyone had "heard".  Anyway, please forgive me for disrupting the wonderful rhythm of this incredible group.

    Debbie:

Reposting a question is perfectly normal and acceptable in the internet groups that I know of. In most cases, it would be considered a courtesy, simply because it's easy to miss posts in a long thread.

Multiple reposts might be rude, but ONE?  You don't need forgiveness, and you didn't disrupt anything.

    Pam

Re: CSM Jerry R. Callaghan Recovering / Wounded Warrior

Wow..what a problem to wake up to !!!! Even recieved a PM asking me to say something ???

From reading the Posts...someone repeatily asked the same question in a realitively short period of time...???

This is just my take on it, nothing more and am not defending or condeming anyone...

As for being impatient about anything...there is no one as bad as me...No one !!!! In this age of instant electronic communications it has made me even more so... I to seem to dismiss the FACT that whom I am communicating with is on the otherside of our Planet and in the mist of Fighting a War...and trying to provide for those that are actually Wounded and Injured fighting that WAR !!! I also almost always dismiss the fact that they are working on a clock that is opposite to mine...and are going on less than 3 hours of sleep per day...under unimaginable stress !!!!

EVERYONE on this FORUM...is Greatly Appreciatted and Needed...and the only "Dumb Question" is the one that wasn't asked...I sometimes just have to wait for an answer...

     Very Respectfully submitted

Re: CSM Jerry R. Callaghan Recovering / Wounded Warrior

No support group of Supporters ever assembled could ever be as good as this Dream Team. Four Hospitals, 216 patients as of today and the list to concentrate on is small. So many patients / American warriors aren't sure if they are in the same Hospital or if someone moved them while they were asleep. Just trying to paint the picture that your all commendable in words and deed. Not sure how to get after a few things but like always time seems to work out the kinks. In this case the Dream Team works out the kinks. For those of you that knew what was going with me the past week we/I and my Unit have relocated approx. 312 Soldiers while simoltaneously reconstructing the best Tactical Operations Center I have ever worked in while still performing our 24/7 Mission never leaving a gap for the Combatant Commander to be concerned about.

Looking forward to hold the ground we all have gained in the past 8 weeks and more so looking forward to notching away at the remaining and constant Goals.

I wish I knew you all knew how thankful I am to see the significant difference in the basic quality of life for the four Clinics/Hospitals in different Countries you/we provide support to. Time for me to rehearse our next move with the Battalions Staff.

Hopefully everyone is doing well and have agreat evening - Jerry

Re: CSM Jerry R. Callaghan Recovering / Wounded Warrior

    Debbie--

As others have said, you are doing a terrific service for our troops and have no reason to apologize for anything!!!!

    Everybody else--

I've been doing the AS thing for 4 years, but this is the first group effort I've been part of, and I've NEVER been on a "Dream Team" before!!  Smile  I'm as awestruck and thrilled as Jerry that we pulled all of this off in such a short amount of time, and knowing that those wounded kids are getting the things they need and deserve just makes me sleep a little better at night.

    Jerry--

Do you have peers over there who are in the same situation as you were 8 weeks ago? In other words, are there other hospitals where all these items are needed, and is there anything we can do about it?

    Thanks,

    Cheryl

Re: CSM Jerry R. Callaghan Recovering / Wounded Warrior

Cheryl, Funny you asked. I'll just say these are the primary four urgent care CSH's we have. After stumbling across this situation I lost much understanding of what my peers are thinking. The four CSH's feed smaller, less ambulatory care type Aid Stations etc...

I have never had a need nor has anyone asked but a significant portion of Support comes from larger type contributors. Medical companies etc..... This Dream Team fills the gaps of what companies won't entertain. Thats why you all are so critical to me in providing requested items. Individuals are my last resort for support but by far the most Critical because of what you/we all can and do provide that Companies don't or won't.

I hope this answered your question. I'm trying to be honest but not in a emotional way. PM me if I failed to answer your question.

    Jerry

LOL...I recieved a PM asking what CSM stood for...

It stands for "Command Sargent Major" it is the Highest enlisted rank in the Military...

What job does CSM equate to...oh say the VP of General Motors (But has More Authority...)

He sits at the "RIGHT HAND OF GOD" !!!! Can be gentle as a Teddy Bear...or Mean as a Grizzly... Is Respected by All...and Feared by every Junior Officer in reach...

Re: CSM Jerry R. Callaghan Recovering / Wounded Warrior

Here's the official description...I looked it up when I first embarked on this journey.  There is only one enlisted Army person that is higher than the CSM's rank.  That would be THE Sargeant Major of the Army.

    COMMAND SERGEANT MAJOR (CSM)
(Addressed as " Command Sergeant Major")
Functioning without supervision, a CSM’s counsel is expected to be calm, settled and accurate—with unflagging enthusiasm. Supplies recommendations to the commander and staff, and carries out policies and standards on the performance, training, appearance and conduct of enlisted personnel. Assists Officers at the brigade level (3,000 to 5,000 Soldiers).

OK, sometimes I like the textbook stuff.  Maybe I'm a nerd.

    Jerry--

You answered the question I was asking! I was worried that there may have been several other hospitals going without needed items, too. I have sent similar supplies to medics before, but they were at temporary aid stations/clinics. I'm glad that we have things covered!  Thanks!

    Marilyn,

CSM Callaghan just received 2 xbox 360's with 4 games from me.  I also just received a donated used xbox 360 with about 15 games that I will be sending out today to him.  Just thought I would pass that along for your list.
