    Re: Introduce yourself!!

    Hi Janet!

Thank you for the "slipper queen" thing, makes me feel good. But, just as yourself and all the others, I think I get as much (if not more) out of putting shipments together and sending them to aid and comfort our Troops as they get when they get packages from home.

I do have a very easy knitted slipper pattern that I'll gladly put out here for anyone who'd like to use it too. It's a basic knitted slipper which I learned when I was 8, was our first 4-H knitting project.

My oldest brother served in the Marine Corps 1965 - 67, Vietnam, stringing communication, I was only 7 when he shipped out and 9 when he came home, safely Thank God!!! Didn't really understand what was goin' on or why he was so far away and my Mom was always worried about him. I just knew I had to write to him a lot 'cause I missed him and couldn't call him, sent lots of pictures, and we baked loads of cookies to send... My next older brother served 20 years in the Navy, including Gulf War zone. I did a short stint in the Army, but was unable to physically continue (had already had 3 of 5 major gut surgeries when I tried).

So, between family and many friends and club members, I have a real good idea how much our Troops need to know they're supported back home! Am just glad to know there's so many of us doing so, and such a great website for us to get and give help...

    Merry CHRISTmas!

Hi this is Trevor from Illinois.

I just heard about this site this morning and haven’t had the time yet to become a junkie, but it is easy to believe that it will be happening. For everyone involved in this site I would like to thank you. Anything those of us at home can do to show our support for our troops is a great thing.

Heard about Anysoldier.com when one of the soldiers (I think she was in Mosul) mentioned it in her greeting to her family and friends at home. If anyone knows her thank her for helping to get the word out.

Looks like I have some catching up to do so I have to get busy figuring out how to find some soldiers to cheer up.

    Merry Christmas to everyone,

Hello, everyone!  My name is Jackie, and I have just found this site from a posting on the Patriot Guard Forums.  I fully believe in supporting our troops in any way I can.  I am a member of the Patriot Guard Riders, and have been sending packages to our troops through another site for the past year.  I look forward to being able to support more of our troops through this site!

     Thank you.

I am Amy.  I am a recipient of some well wanted care packages last year when I was in Baghdad.  I will be in Afghanistan this coming year and I will probably seek support again from the beautiful people of this site.  It was SUCH a morale booster and everyone was very appreciated when they got their first piece of home.

     You're doing great things,

    Amy

I've got family all over the Tulsa/Broken Arrow area.  It's great to have you with us. If you want to be in touch with other supporters, this is the place to be plugged in.  We spend a lot of time encouraging each other and passing on ideas.  If you are looking specifically to hear from soldiers...well, like this web site says...there are no guarantees.  All I can recommend, from experience, is write whether they write you or not.  Believe me, whether you hear from them or not, they really appreciate every letter or card.

    Re: Introduce yourself!!

    Hello,

My name is Dina and I live in North East Florida.  I have 3 girls.  My oldest is 20, my middle child is going to be 19 on Dec. 30thCake, and my youngest is 13.

I found this site while searching for anything to do with the Army.  My middle child, Brandy is in the Army.  She is almost finished with basic training.  She is home for Christmas Exodus til Jan 3rd.  Then she goes back to Ft. Leonard Wood, Mo to finish 2 more weeks of basic.  Then she goes to AIT in Ft. Sam Houston, Tx.  for Medical specialist training.

This is an awesome site.  I sent 3 packages 2 weeks before Christmas.  I work at our local hospital and one of the doctors there also has been sending packages to our troops.  She loves this site to.  I enjoyed our conversation we had about the troops and things that she has sent.

My daughter's boy friend is also in the Army.  He is finishing his traing.  Then he graduates same day as my daughter.  He will then go to airborne school and to special forces and language.  They are enjoying the time they are together now.  You cant get them apart.

I am so proud of both of them.  And am very proud of all of our troops for defending our great nation.

    Thanks for this wonderful site.

    Dina

    THANK YOU!!!!

You have no idea what those simple words mean to all of us here.  We don't always hear back from those we support.  Rest assured that we Any Soldier supporters will be there to do what we can for you and your group.  Let us know when you get there.  And, we look forward to your safe return, as well.

    Re: Introduce yourself!!

    Hi Amy!

Thank you for all you've done, are doing and will do for us! Being able to send some small bits of love and comfort from home to you, our Troops, is very little compared to what y'all are giving so that we may continue to live free.

Our Proud Veterans Motorcycle Club members sponsor a Slippers for Soldiers project, shipping handmade slippers to our Troops in the war zone. Shipments include magazines, hard candies, toiletries, etc. When you have your address in Afghanistan, we will gladly send your unit enough for all to slip into something comfy when you get your boots off. Please check your personal messages here.

Keep your head down and your spirits up!

    God Bless Y'all,

    Jeanine/Mousey

    Re: Introduce yourself!!

    Hello,

I'm from The Land of Lincoln,  also.  Developing into a 1st Class AnySoldier.com junkie.  A day is incomplete if I don't ship at least one package.  And I love it!

After sending 3 major packages to a Marine on faith and thinking they had been confiscated I got an email and picture of my contact with his stuff.  It was one of the best things that I've ever done.

The ripples from these contacts go far.
