Hello! My name is Michelle and I manage a Dallas Metal Band. I was wanting to figure out how I can send some of our soldiers some music CDs to listen to while they are fighting for our country. If someone could give me some addresses or contacts I would appreciate it! Thanks!

Hi Michelle, It's nice to see a fellow Texan supporting our troops! :) What you need to do is go to the main AnySoldier "where to send" page and choose the "search contacts" feature. You can then put in music, metal, cds, etc. to find units that are requesting music cds. We can also point you in the right direction but you will request any addresses yourself, per the AnySoldier rules. I know you'll find lots because many request music! Tell your band thanks, too!

Hi All,
My name is Sandy and I live in Plainfield, Illinois (suburbs of Chicago) with my husband and three kids. In my free time I do triathlon's and other crazy things like running up the stairs of various tall buildings. Triathlon's are much easiers than stairs if you ever wondered.

Hi, I'm really new at this. Thought it would be a good way to communicate with others who contribute to anysoldier.com. My family and I have been sending care packages to a soldier in Afghanistan since July, '07; he's the contact for 4 other soldiers. It's been very rewarding, although I feel it's the least we can do for them to show our support.

Hello! I am Susan, a sorta retired (sell on eBay) very busy little grandma in South Florida (where I grew up) who signed up for this for basically one reason:
I found a site where people are encouraged to knit helmet liners for servicemen - lots of rules, need to be wool, certain colors, etc., but just my cup of tea. I have been knitting for 40+ years, and there is NO ONE out there who needs anything more, knitted, from me... BUT... I now have I think 8 of the things done. I cannot get the site to respond to me, and one of the things I know about the cyberworld is that site could be LONG gone, and I ain't gonna send a bunch of knitting out into the cosmos without being sure it will go where it is wanted.
Does anyone know anything about helmet liners and where they should be sent? Would greatly appreciate good info... Susan

Wow, hello everyone!! Evidently I have been officially approved to post on the forum now, so here I go. My name is Mandy and I am from Winchester Virginia, in the beautiful Shenandoah Valley. I am a wife, the mother of a beautiful daughter and the pack leader of a "as big as a Great Dane in his mind" Yorkie. My husband and I are prior military. He was Airborne and I was a SP/LE in the Air Force. I do come from a long line of military folk, with my little bro now serving stateside "mommy duty" while the real mommy serves overseas. When she gets back, then my bro leaves for his 3rd tour. They leave behind my two nephews, 6 & 3, when they serve their tours. But there is lots of love in my family and prayers, everyday, for them and for all who serve overseas. My husband and I are also missionaries and are very active in our church, which brings me to my reason for coming here. I have started Operation Soldier Outreach here at our church and so far, the enthusiasm from fellow churchgoers is wonderful. Not to mention friends and family. At the commitment level, we prayerfully should have enough to send out to 2-3 units a month. (HINT - for bath/shampoo stuff, ask your local hotels if they will donate some of the bathroom stuff. And ask your local dentist for the dental kits.) So, a special shout-out to Greenwood Baptist Church! Way to go guys!!! I am finding it hard to pick which units need what, but I know that the Lord will impress upon our hearts which ones are the most in need and who can benefit from the packages. It warms my heart to know that there are others that are willing to take the time out of their lives to give something back to the soldiers that put their lives on the line everyday, 24 hours a day. All of you soldiers are on our prayer list and we pray everyday that the Lord puts a protective hedge about, to bring you home safely, and that your families receive comfort while you are away.
