--oh, that's right. Sweet! Ended up doing the right thing despite flustered, then. :D I should start carrying something, though.I told her a little bit about how the site worked.
I've done some searches, yes--it's sort of intimidating how many there are who want them.
Also, I don't like this avatar and want to change it. :P *fights with it*

If you're looking for extra stuff to send, find your local freecycle group and see if anyone has free stuff that you can pick up. You can stuff a few teabags or drink things in with a letter for no additional charge or mail a full package if you can afford it (much more affordable if you don't have to pay for more than the postage). It seems to me that most people have a bunch of stuff lying around that might be valued if sent over there, but they have no idea how to go about it.

Hi and welcome Tanya, If I were you, I would pull my address and email address from this site. While the junkies are honorable people there are many guests that are categorized as bottom feeders and as a single woman with children it might not be safe to have it posted for all to see. You can easily find pen pal requests and letter requests by going to the search page and entering it in requests. Request the addresses that catch your eye. Sincerely, A cautious mom and grandmom Vicki

Welcome aboard, Sharky!
Regarding the comic books: Just go to the Special Contact Requests and see the thread for CPT Keith J Andrews. He loves comics and has an outlet for hundreds of them!!!
Order some AnySoldier "business cards" from the Sales & Donations button at the top of the home page. They aren't expensive and make it really easy to spread the word, and Marty gets them to you very quickly.
Take care and have fun with being a junkie!

Hi Samantha from Raleigh,
Did you go to Kuwait from Georgia? I was there back in 1998 with the Aviation Brigade. Oh, by the way my name is Joe and I'm in Taji, Iraq. It is very nice to meet you. You're right, there was nothing like this in the late 90's, it's a big help, thank you for your post, it means alot.

If some of you could check it out and send her birthday greetings, I know she would enjoy them and I would appreciate it also. She just really touched my heart. Her name is: SPC Takiah D. Smith. Her post is on today..July 4th. Thank you so much. Happy 4th of July and God Bless each one of you. K in Nebr.

Hi everyone and Happy 4th of July!
My name is Diane Gibson and I live in central Florida. I found this site a week ago after reading an article in the Tampa Tribune. I have to admit that I'm hooked! I've often felt a desire to "do something" but wasn't really sure how to go about it.
Both of my parents were in the service. My dad retired from the Seabees in the late 60's and my mom was in the Army Signal Corps. I grew up in southern Mississippi and have chosen to support the Seabees out of Gulfport as my first recipients of letters and goodies.
I am married, have 5 cats and 2 dogs, and work for county government. I like gardening, home improvement projects, reading, and making cards.
I guess that's it for now. I'm going to explore the site now!

Hey, Cindy:
Glad to see a fellow Lafayette resident posting. There are several of us. Welcome. I love your idea! Keep up the good work. In case you didn't see my post about the Mailbox Etc. on Pinhook........a great hassle free place to mail instead of the post office. The ladies there are quite helpful and friendly and there are no lines. I've been a junkie for about 2 years and this is a quick and easy way to save time.
Krewe Captain .....because we love soldiers!!!!

Hey Fellow Supporters!
I'm new to the forum, actually, I've been reading for a while, but never posted until now. I have been sending packages and letters out to the troops for about a year through AnySoldier, and can't live without my nightly (or several times daily) AS fix. I can't help it--I find myself just cruising by the computer throughout the day and seeing what's new. I live in Southern California with my hubby (who tolerates my addiction ) and my 2 kiddos (who help select items, provide artwork and pack boxes), and one very wicked brown dog (said affectionately, of course). I just about busted my tail sending out those last 3 boxes before we went on vacation, because it just didn't seem right to leave without taking care of our guys first...
I figured it was time to come out of the shadows and join the discussions...nice to be a part of the bigger picture!
