We are a small mobile communications center (Officially know as FMP MOCC GOLF)supporting P-3 Orion operations in Iraq and we're deployed from NAS Whidbey Island WA.  This is our second trip to Iraq in less than a year, so this time we had a better idea what to bring.  We surged out here Dec07-Mar08 which meant we were not in theatre long enough to qualify for signing up on anysailor.  

The MOCC that was deployed here at the time was doing it's regular deployment and the support and care packages they received from you were a huge morale builder for them.  Which is why I decided to be a contact and sign my unit up now that were back for our regular deployment.

I look forward to having some time to poke around the forum and getting to know you all.

Am so tickled ....  sent a letter and a blank card to send home to a new contact
last week (I'm brand new here too), and got email back this morn from him ...  here's a quote  " The
homemade card depicted three children, 2 boys and a girl.  I have three
children, Brett (9), Brady (4) and Madeline (3).  So far I have only
missed Maddy's birthday, but unfortunately I will miss them all before
this deployment is done."

 This is enough to make me a junkie here.

I introduce myself to you with an explantation that this is so new to me that I have apparently done this incorrectly.  My son Sgt Nick is currently in Iraq, due to be home for leave real soon.  I am interested in being part of the program but Computer illiteracy seems to be holding me back.  I will allow my daughter Proud Sister Betty to handle the computer stuff and retreat to doing all the physical stuff that is required to help my son and any other soldier out there.          My name is Marganet Taylor-Thurston  My Id is Imnotdoneeither

My name is Christine,

I am very new to this site and am just learning my way around it.  I got interested in this website after reading an April 2007 issue of Guideposts magazine about a girl writing to soldiers overseas fighting in the war. It sparked an interest in me, and I would like to try the same thing.

I was born and raised in Indiana. I am also vision, and hearing impard.

I love to watch movies/tv, bowling, walking, anything that sounds fun.
