    Re: Introduce yourself!!

You answered my first question about when the flat rate boxes start saving money based on weight.  You said 4 lbs... that is good to know.  I've got 3 ready to go but I think I will send my first 2 today... then wait a few days to send the 3rd one.

    Hey hey hey

Happy Thanksgiving to all who will celebrate the holiday this week.

I do enjoy receiving the messages from all the new folks who are joining Any Soldier. I especially like to meet the contacts who stop by to introduce themselves to us.  THANK YOU!

If y'all have a few minutes, visit the FORUMS.  A ton of info and special events are always going on there.

Currently we are organizing a CARD SWAP project for valentines for our fighting warriors!  Our Dear American Hero!

    Deployment Guide:

    Hello Everyone,

I just returned from a two year deployment in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom.  (2006-2008)  I wrote a book about deployments and think it would be a good care packet "stuffer" for all service members deployed.

    ....

Welcome, Tom. The book looks very helpful. I checked your blog link on your profile and those are some nice pics! Mooovie stahs and everything! I'm a fan of The Unit show and noticed you got a nice one with the cast. The articles are interesting, too - nice insights and explanations. Sweet story about your "Snowflake in the Desert."  Smile

Hi Helen! Glad to help :) Your "break even" weight may be different depending on where you are in the country. You're paying to ship to NY or CA depending on the APO/FPO addr. If you go on the usps website, you can type in the pounds for regular shipping and see what weight you can get up to the cost of your flat rate. TN is probably close to my MO rates I'd imagine! Happy packing ... Shelly

I forgot to introduce myself before I started posting away Stick out tongue

I'm Cisca and my husband and I live in Houston with our German Shepherd, Dixie.  I was in the Army in the early '90s and he was on a riverboat in Vietnam.

Very grateful to have found this website!  Just sent out my first batch of packages and brought my Neighbor Program letter down to Krogers. I made copies of the letter and my husband handed them out to some of the guys at work.

Looking forward to getting to know you all!

PS.  I'm always forgetting my login names/passwords so I'm spice_diva in the chat room, when I have time to pop in
