Hi Mark welcome! There's a thread here for supporters of the guys in the Korengal.
Also, if you go to the "Where to Send" page, and search with Korengal in the address line.... you'll get a few guys to choose from and can request and address to send to.
Feel free to shoot me an email if you have any questions! Thanks for thinking of them and Happy Holdiays to you :)
Shelly

Hello! My name is Christi Hinton, and I am from the Laurel, MS area. My husband is a former marine. He served 13 1/2 years, and in 2004 when he discharged we moved back to his hometown just outside of Laurel. We have two children - 13 year old daughter and 11 year old son. I am the Veterans Affairs Counselor at an institution of higher learning. I mainly work with students that are utilizing their GI Bill educational benefits. I also a member of the Veterans Affairs Administrators of Mississippi (VAAMS). The VAAMS motto is "Serving Those Who Have Served So Many," so I am borrowing it as my motto also.
Christmas 2007 I sent Christmas cards through the American Redcross Program "We Support Your Recover" and again Christmas 2008 through the "Holiday Mail for Heros." I have also "adopted" a couple of Marines through another program, and I write to them weekly. I don't know if either of them are serving in a war zone or stateside, and neither has ever replied. But, I made a committment so I continue to write.
My mother passed away unexpectedly earlier this year (2008) at the age of 51, and just before the Thanksgiving Holidays I was wondering how I would ever get through the holidays without her when my husband suggested taking on a "project." Something that would keep me busy during the holidays. LOL! Little did he know that I would find AnySoldier. It looks like this will turn into an all year project. And, I have to admit getting these care packages together and writing to the service men/women has been great for me. I have enjoyed it so much, and it has kept me very busy. (I don't share this part with the service members in my letters.)
I have adopted several units, and I have mailed five small care packages this month with three more waiting to be shipped. I am still in the "learning" stage, and with each package I think I get better and better. This site and this program is addicting.
Thank you to everyone that is involved with it. I look forward to getting to know you all, and sharing ideas with how to better assist our service members.

Hello everybody! I've been a member here for a few months but, just decided to get in on the forum/chat. I'm from NYS and have always taken an interest in supporting our troops. Over the years I have had many relatives in the service and most recently, cousins that served in the first Gulf War. I've been sending packages to a group in Afghanistan on a regular basis and try to keep up with the news of what's going on here. I want to commend every member here on the great job your all doing. Our troops are very well loved and respected.
Marty, a very big & heart-felt thank-you to your and your family for creating AS.

Welcome to all the newbies! And HAPPY NEW YEAR to all.
2009 is off to a good start with lots of AS Junkies supporting the Valentine Card swaps... I'll have approximately 800 cards to swap and return to the AS Junkie participants who will then put these cards into the mail to their contacts to share with their units. NICE NICE NICE!
Want more info about Card Swapping look at the FORUMs... there are lots of special events and issues to learn from .
See a Card Swap and it is full, ask someone to start a second thread... it worked really well for the Valentines... I hosted both a swap of 25 cards from 25 ladies... some of them, plus a few others joined the thread for sending in just 10 cards. This swap ends this coming week as I take all the cards I received, make individual piles and ship the cards back to the AS Supporters. This gives them a short turn around to get the cards into the mail timely for Valentine's Day... but believe me the troops appreciate getting them early, on time, or late! A few of my contacts were happy getting a few things late for Christmas which took the crunch off them sending out their thank yous! LOL.
Remember, with the card swap, IF YOU HOST -- YOU set the rules! YOU decide if you can afford to provide all the return postage or if participants must provide the return postage.
It is so helpful if all "swappers" provide their own return mailing label... it saves the host time and effort in writing out all the return addresses, but it also cuts down on mistakes in box numbers, zip codes, etc.
YOU decide if you want to hand 10, 15, 20, 25, 50, or more cards!!!
It is an awesome feeling when you start receiving these big envelopes of 10 and 25 cards -- like I have this past week. WOW! Just knowing that all these cards will eventually wind up in the hands of one of our heroes serving in the Middle East is fantastic and since the cards created such fun and smiles for my grandchildren and me -- along with a few supporters here at the flea market -- i KNOW they will provide many more smiles Over There!
So, again, welcome one and all to Any Soldier, Inc. Marty & family & friends & supporters have created a wondrous, FUNtabulous organization that provides FANtastic ways to support our military folks.
Thanks for joining the AS Family!
Take care, y'all

Welcome Sarah and Thank you for your Service to our country.
If you're interested you can go to the Search page and enter card with a blank before and after:) you should find lots of requests for blank greeting cards. In addition you may already have found the CSH thread at the bottom of the screen here. There is also an online site another Forum member pointed out some time back called Split Coast Stampers - or something like that, that is a card makers dream, has resources, tutorials etc. Great site - google the SplitCoasters name and you can probably find it. If not, I'll look for the link if your're interested.

Hello! My name is Amber, I'm 24 and I'm kinda new to all this stuff. My husband is deployed right now w/ 6-4 CAV, so I've been looking for things to do to contribute and help out our troops overseas. We're stationed out of Ft. Hood, but we have a house about 3 hours south of there, towards Houston, so I'm never up around post to be able to participate in the normal spouse and FRG activities. I just sent out 4 packages yesterday w/ A LOT of thick wool socks, handwarmers, snacks, candy, cold and flu meds. etc....I wasn't sure who all needed what over there, but my husband did tell me that him and his troops were really in need of those things, so I just went and bought as much as i could afford to spend on warm socks, gloves, under garments etc. (in a couple of different sizes M, L, XL), heated blankets, cold/flu meds.,snacks, playing cards, dvd's, laundry soap, and of course their #1 necessity...TOBACCO!! LOL! The boxes were all addressed to Adam (my hubby) but w/ VERY strict instructions that he is supposed to share, it's not all for him! Well, I guess that's just about all I can think to say right now! I look forward to getting to know ya'll! Have a great day!

Welcome Amber and all newbies!
Anysoldier is a volunteer community of concerned and caring supporters of soldiers in harms way. Members from many countries send spiritual, emotional and material support to those who are far from home in the service. One of our objectives is to let our troops know, that we know they are there, and that we care. Many of us know the wear and tear family members weather while loved ones are deployed. You are most welcome here. Thank you for sending extras for the other soldiers. You will find information on site that will help you and yours. Again Welcome, door

Hi! I am 50 years old, married, with one grown daughter and two cats. I started on Anysoldier back in November. I have been following the forum, and finally decided to join because I really wanted to send condolences to Cathi when she posted yesterday about the tragic loss of her son.
I have been supporting several groups (well, more than severa!) of soldiers and am really glad to send them comfort items that make their deployment a little happier. I heard about this site from a coupon forum. One of the members suggested that this would be a good thing to do with some of the amazing bargains we were finding on sundries and food. As I began to read the posts, something just clicked and I felt really strongly that this is a part of my "calling."
I keep up with the daily posts and often feel tugged to answer additional requests, but I am trying to stay with steadily supporting the groups I've chosen - limited amount of resources - but as you all know, it's hard to stop! I seem to always be saying, "Oh, you aren't using that lotion (magazine, shampoo, snack, etc.), I'll send it to Iraq/Afghanistan!!" Yes, I am a junkie!
