    Sounds like it's time to...

Show us your chickens! Wink Plz post links to any photos. Flickr is a great, free photo sharing site if you don't already use one.

I did a quick try a few days ago, but couldn't get the tattoos to stick to my chicken. So will try again once I have a chance to look for a new costume. Hmmm... now where did I see that tiny hula skirt?

Sorry no pics but I sent anysailor.com contact Danny Monahan a few rubber chickens.. see his posting, I have not heard back yet and sure hope the chicken box arrives since I performed surgery and opened him up and filled it with the requested nail clippers, chapsticks, hard candies, also  ORIENTAL TRADING has some great rubber chicken stuff so Danny and his group got a bunch of gummy candy rubber chickens and small rubber chicken key chains, the price was right to bring a smile to their faces. I hope the boxed to A-Stan arrived. These guys and gals need a few chuckles.

Wow, you guys are amazing. A Packer chicken, and egg-laying chicken a wonderful poem -- what a creative bunch! I haven't even found a chicken yet. I'll keep looking!

    Kathy,

Just got an email from Navy contact Danny Monahan, your chicken and mine arrived. They have been really busy, and very limited internet useage available. He was THRILLED at the tatoo chicken and my chicken keychains.

I have seen this a couple of times -and I just now thought about this... I have some stamped images of various chickens.  I need to make some greeting cards using them - only problem is it takes me a little while.  But I assume they will be collecting chickens for a while!

Now, I am confused (okay, that does not take much!).  I see references to Christine Parent and to sailor Danny Monahan - do they represent the same group or different ones? (I am still getting used to strange addresses and military terminology - as well as this site!)

    Hey Dorothy,

Don't feel bad.  I'm as confused as you are.  I sent the tattooed chicken to Christine Parent (listed as Navy in A'stan) and then hear from Iwojimaseabee that sailor Danny Monahan received the tattooed chicken.  I have not heard anything from Christine.  Soooo, either someone copied my idea (which by the way is perfectly okay by me) or they are in the same group.  I think it's the same group because Danny in his posts made reference to seeing packages that others in his unit got from AS prompting him to sign up for some of his sailors too.  I think that it is common for sections of the same group to sign up and frankly is easier for me as one person to handle a small group, as well as making the distribution by the soldier (or sailor in this case) more manageable.  It does not usually mean that they are handing out packages to the same people, just different people in the same larger bunch of guys.
