    Has anyone sent charcoal?

I keep forgetting to ask this, I searched this forum but didn't come up with much from the past (except under the Strange Requests thread. ETA: I also read the Michael Stevens thread, but no info about shipping from the US...), and since grilling season is upon us, I have a contact that is asking for some.

So, the "no brainer" would be that it's flammable (duh)... but is it flammable without the lighter fluid?  (I supposed if I looked on any charcoal package I could answer my own question, but I just haven't gotten there yet... hold my hand, please? LOL)  In the 150+ degree heat of shipping, could it just burst into flames?

If charcoal is a big no, is there anything else we can ship via USPS that can help them grill?

    TIA!!!

I started checking into BBQ wood pellets a couple of days ago, but due to work schedule have been unable to follow up.  I googled BBQ wood pellets.  I remember seeing 2.5lbs for 5.95, but was not able to check into the shipping or hazmat issues. I will try again tomorrow since I am off.

Just about anything in this world burns with the proper circumstances, so I think many regulations are over-the-top.  But gauging how long it takes me to get BBQ briquets going for a BBQ, I'm guessing they should be just about ready to put the steaks on by the time they reach Iraq...  LOLBig Smile

Sorry, I don't know the requlations on this one, but for sure I wouldn't send the "easy start" kind or the lighter fluid.  With any luck, they may be ready to cook before their tour of duty is over...LOL
