I received a letter yesterday from my soldier who was nominee SSG Melinda Gintilas. She told me that her husband had nominated her. It was too late to vote for her. Melinda is in a roundabout way one of our Any Soldier soldiers, too. I received her name on her previous deployment when I sent an "any female soldier" box to one of the contacts. He passed the box on to her and we wrote through her first deployment and now on her second tour. I didn't know about her nomination until her letter yesterday. Unfortunately I was not able to be home tonight or near a TV to see the program. I'm hoping one of my friends taped it. I have dial-up which makes watching the video online a real experience! Congratulations to Patti and a great job to the other two nominees. These are very special ladies.
