    Notes in care packages

I am in my third year of sending packages to our troops.  Until this year I always put in a piece paper that I had written a note on with my name, address and e-mail address on it.  This was kept on my computer so I could print the notes out as needed.

For some reason it came to me that the little notes, although heartfelt, were a little impersonal.  So now I buy small packages of Thank You notes and hand write something inside along with whatever is printed on the inside. Some of the cards are blank inside. I add my e-mail and home address as well. The Dollar Store and General Dollar Store have thank you cards at a very reasonable price.  I stock up on Easter Cards and Mother's Day cards and send them to my contacts in time for the troops to send them to their familes and mothers. Boxed Christmas cards are big hit with the troops.  Buy them after Christmas when they are on sale and start putting a box of cards in you care packages starting around October or November.

Ya'll be good, or at least be careful,

I also save the note cards I get in the mail from charity solicitors.  They are usually quite nice and blank inside.  I save all the return address labels that I get, usually from the same charities, in the card and write in my email address.  I've also made return addresses with the Any Soldier logo.  This way they know exactly where it all came from.  then I write a note or enclose a printed letter - my handwriting is horrendous!

I usually put in postcards too. I figure either they can use them for writing or use them for decorations.

My first package to the group, I usually write a note on paper that has my picture (same one I have on avatar) and my email.  After that I like to put postcards of Florida in my packages ..Some soldiers said they are trying to collect postcards from each state. I also put in several Anysoldier Postcards for the soldiers to use...They love them and send them to there family and friends.
