For those of you living in more urban areas don't forget the option of posting "Wanted" items on www.Craigslist.com and checking out their Free items or, my ABSOLUTE FAVORITE, join www.Freecycle.org. I have gotten a bunch of men's magazines and books to send (I am an all-female household...lol), Avon cologne samples, as well as gently used sports equipment, and lots of other items, that people are cleaning out of their house. I have seen lots of awesome items (and the usual non-working things you want to avoid). You have to be sharp and fast and willing to go pick things up, but, how can you beat "free"??? This would also be good for those who send things for orphanages and citizens who may not have shoes for instance.
Happy Hunting!
