I was just thinking that at the last minute and almost without thinking I stuffed a map of California (since that is where I'm from... duh....) in the very first box I mailed off.  It might be something you might like to do as well and even include travel books with photos of your state/area.  The troops might like to learn about other parts of our country or even "plan a mental vacation" to someplace.  AAA gives out free maps and travel planners to its members (Ask me if you would like me to order one for you...) as do many Chambers of Commerce...if you are looking for things to fill your boxes.  They might get a kick out of them.  Just a thought.  Anybody ever send off any travel DVD's??  Just wondering if so & if you got a response?

I send a State of Oklahoma Highway map in 99% of the boxes I send as well.

That is a good idea.  I just moved to Colorado and all the state vacation brochures have nice pictures

of the mountains, wild animals, etc...  Yes, it may give them something to 'dream about' and a break from

the routine.
